History has repeated itself, the two front tyres of the Leaf have been replaced with a pair of Goodyear Efficient Grip
Performance 2 Tyres again ordered yesterday afternoon fitted lunchtime today through ASDA tyres. Bit pricier 17 months later. £86 each fully fitted, no discount offer this time £172 in total.
NewcastleFalcon wrote: 04 Apr 2023, 18:03 BB Leaf is needing a couple of new tyres, so trying out ASDA. Quite straightforward the price shown is what you pay "fully fitted" and you choose an appointment slot with the fitters of your choice. Set up for Thursday.
Maybe there's too much info these days I wonder if anyone can notice the difference between 69db and 71db on the road noise thing.

Heavily influenced by this ad I chose goodyear, £75 each fully fitted (£10 off for 2)

Be thankful you have the 205/55/R16 on your Leaf - mine has 215/50/R17 and tyres for that size are double the price!

Three digit prices there Simon...
--------
As I discover, I can't really answer my own question of how many miles did I get out of those front tyres because I can't precisely remember when I changed them. We have done about 51,000 miles in the Leaf now and I got a 2 new rear tyres on purchase. In April 2023 the two rears were replaced probably about 14,000 miles ago. The fronts have been replaced at least once so they may well have 25,000 ish miles on them when replaced today.

I don't give my tyres a hard life, but the road surfaces themselves have been pretty rough although some improvement has happened recently. Unfortunately I can't be too precise about mileages. They are a significant replacement cost so I like to extract as much mileage out of them as I can.

BB Leaf on new front tyres day!

I think I have pulled together the time line on "The Rears".

I seem to have lost track of when the "fronts" have been replaced apart from yesterday of course. They obviously haven't done all of the 51,223 miles in our ownership but their replacement unusually hasn't been mentioned in dispatches on the FCF. The only hint is that the rears were "done" in 2021 prior to an MOT in Sept, and I may well have done the fronts sometime between Sept 2021 and April 2022 when I noted that the Leaf was "running on pretty much new tyres on all four corners"

The front tyres on my C5s were replaced annually, only ever did between 7 & 10,000 miles.
Only put one pair on the Civic in three years and a lot more miles.

Mazda ones seem to be doing all right too.

When we got the Leaf at 4 years old it was priced at £10,000. Retail at a Nissan Dealer 1 previous owner.
A 24kWh (22kWh usable) Acenta trim with Heat Pump/ and 6.6 kWh on board charger, and at 28,400 miles had full 12 bars of battery SOH.

4¾ years later you get more used EV for similar money.
Priced today at £9,700
A 70 plate, 2020 Nissan Leaf E Acenta 40kWh, heat pump 6.6kWh on board Charger, and at 17,399 miles you would expect it to have the full 12 bars battery SOH (the dash arrangement is different on the "new Leaf" and neither does the nice chimes on start up, nor has the battery bars prominently displayed as on the "Classic Leaf") Of course the general sellers rarely photograph this bit in their listings.

For me one huge improvement in the new Leaf is the redesigned headlights. Having dispensed with the 'hump' I think it looks a much nicer car now. :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
