I had the Pod-Point type 2 tethered charger installed as soon as I bought the Zoe cost was acceptable at the time, there was a grant and I think that's been restored recently, plenty of special offers too if you look around.

pod point home chargers as of today.

Not for us right now Gibbo. Don't see any benefit of a £999 spend over what I do now. Not bothered in the slightest about how long it takes to charge up...It only ever needs about 10-14 kWh to replenish, 5-7 hours for a car that does 10,000 ish miles a year but is idle (as are most cars) for most of the day and all of the night.

On tour with the Leaf...
Of course the Leaf is only suitable for short distance commuting, and trips to the shops.

77,000 not out, Motoring for pleasure.
Neither going to the shops
nor short distance commuting
once again.
Coming up 50,000 miles in 4½ years for us in the Leaf, and just ticked over the 77,000 mark overall in the last few days. All documented in this thread from Plunge-Day minus three, the back of a tab packet phase, to this very day.

None of the oily stuff to do of course, but has needed a couple of handbrake cables last MOT. A relief in a way earlier Leaf's had some electronic handbrake nightmare which they ditched and used good old fashioned cables in the incarnation of the Leaf we have.

...and the next "consummable" replacement, when I get a round tuit, these.

Excellent service from Parts in Motion once more very good price and delivered free via Royal Mail tracked 48. Ordered Thursday afternoon, delivered this morning.

It was, not universally bright sunny and cool, interspersed with drizzle and the odd downpour, but a great day for a little tour splattered across a number of threads! :-D

Bonus, round the back of The Lord Crewe Arms, a free drink at the hard to find pod point charger rubbing shoulders with a surprisingly (for me) photographable Aston Martin, they dont usually appeal that much to me to get the camera out. Barely noticable if not pointed out, the Village buildings, beautifully quaint in their stone-builtness, have quite the most enormous stone roof tiles :-D

The farm opposite my business in Clearwell had a barn with a stone tiled roof something like three times as high as the one in your picture Neil, it had a protection order on it, when the lady who owned it was told grants were available to repair/restore protected buildings she applied, the council downgraded the building and removed the protection.and refused the grant.
She later brought the roof down to half its height.

Funny that, only last night in bed I was reading all about various roofing tiles - good sleep-inducing material ;)

The thing about those stone ones are their tremendous weight; they could cause the building to sink!

Part of the charm of different areas of the country is the use of locally available materials in buildings and different architectural styles. Of course Welsh Slate for rooves (note less commonly used plural deliberately chosen) became ubiquitous with the coming of railways and adorns Chez Falcon some miles away from Wales.

Came across this from a firm probably fairly adjacent to you Gibbo. HQ in Herefordshire..."Black Mountain Quarries". Products hewn from the Black Mountains themselves....well not quite in their stone-tile offering... :-D

"Made from high quality Indian sandstone, the colouring is mid-brown with tones of amber to dusky pink." ..."Due to stocking levels we only have a few remaining pieces in stock, we will no longer be importing future stone roofing tiles."

Unusually for me liked these straight out of the tin. The camera saw the view pretty much as my own eyes did.

Not many folk go to North Blyth these days. Used to have a ferry for pedestrians crossing to Blyth town proper, and provided the background for some of the scenes in the iconic "Get Carter".

I will attempt to tell it/find out/come up with some images on the FCF's place for such things the Trivia Investigation Thread. I do that type of thing for myself in any case and have already been paddling around in some of the local history facebook groups which is a surprisingly good resource. Don't do facebook and the rest in any active shape or form, but quite often harvest the treasure trove of contributions on the local history front, and of course now the Newbiggin Dolphin Watch Group for their daily logging of Dolphin Activity on the North East Coast :-D
Here's my starter for 10 on the Trivia Investigation Thread on the subject. More than likely I will go beyond the "story of the railway"!
On the leccy car front the actual 50,000 miles in our ownership is coming up. About 100 miles till the odometer officially declares the milestone at 78,400 in total. MOT time in September when new front tyres and maybe the drop links and ARB bushes I have bought will need fitting.
