Ok so to explain - these vans are basically FIATs! So they have different audio and immobiliser setups to standard PSA vehicles.

When the ignition is switched on, the engine management ECU sends the fixed code to the immobiliser unit (Electronic ECU Box).
The immobiliser unit sends an electrical signal to the aerial.
The transponder coil (ring around ignition I linked to in a previous picture) sends its code, via the electromagnetic field, to the key transponder (chip in the key).
The key transponder responds by sending its identifier to the immobiliser unit via the aerial.
The immobiliser unit sends its fixed code to the engine ECU.
The engine ECU checks the immobiliser unit’s fixed code and authorises starting of the engine.
The immobiliser LED extinguishes.

On some fobs the transponder chip is inside the fob electronics - if you have just a flat key, the transponder will be on the plastic holder somewhere. But the point is once the transponder chips in the keys have been coded, they cannot be reprogrammed for use with another vehicle. So you have to keep the same key that contains the transponder to use with your vehicle's immobiliser unit.

Image yes I'm in the pub, don't judge me lol.
I think I'm right in what the guy told me the other day that he can just change the blade. So my thinking is, new ignition barrel, new keys. Get new blade cut for this key, happy days??? Then back to the original issue. 🙄

Yep, if you keep your fobs and just replace the blade you will be fine - but as I said before be very careful of the transponder coil which sits around the barrel.

Thanks for all the help, the ignition is now replaced and working fine.
The original problem yet to be sorted but have figured out that the sliding door contact switch is knackered. Awaiting new part to arrive then try the bsi reset again.

Don't suppose you might have any more suggestions?
Have tried the BSI reset and still nothing even with the new sliding door contact switch fitted. Is there another similar BSI reset I can try? also is there a way of manually shutting the drivers window? it's been open a little since this happened.
For the BSI reset I had a friend reconnect the battery whilst I was inside so that no doors where opened, can't think of another way to do it without leaving a door open.

I'm unable to access my main rig at the moment as I've had issues with rebuilding some VMs, so just dipping in and out of the Forum at present - but re the BSI reset, just flip the door lock up with a screwdriver to fool the BSI into thinking it is shut, then you can leave the door open.

I would just try and check the wiring loom going throughin case it has worn / got trapped / or cut.

I had a thought yesterday that also since I've had the van the mirror adjuster on the passenger side doesn't work. Am hoping me putting 2+2 together there may resolve the problem if the passenger door loom has issues. Your'e right tho I need to get back to basics and find where the feed stops.

Thanks so much for the help Marc. This issue is now solved, I have windows and full central locking.
The problem was the cable that ran from the battery to the drivers side fuse box. I have changed that and all is working.

Great - result - had to be electrical - and I'm pleased you tracked the fault. The feedback will help others in a similar situation, so thanks for the update.

Yes it was the cable that ran from the fuse board on top of the battery to the fuse box on the drivers side. Um RHD presuming they are the same layout.
