Peugeot Cabriolet day :?: Loads of content to view on the net no point scrawling it all and looking for "the best"...couple of randoms without looking too hard.

Short and sweet from Laura...Old school contemporary 2000 presentation from Chris Goffey. Yes I think Laura does a good job! and to be fair I didn't mind the Chris Goffey either.

Like Laura's summing up
"... it runs well it looks pretty good and it was cheap, that's really all I'm looking for, so that's me that's my car"

Chris warbles on a bit but in a relaxed manner, nice bit of background, not quite sure what characterises it, but it's a car review which is fairly distinctly "of a different era".

Spotted one of these today with the top down. Never seen one before

The pioneering SUV Convertible The Range Rover Evoque Convertible. Didn't get an original photo it was a drive past in the car park, and not in a fetching orange like this it was a dull silver or grey.
Plenty of vids on you tube if you want to find out about it

Sadly, I think due to my proximity to Cheshire, I have seen these in the flesh several times. Yet to ever see the roof down on one. Only ever dull colours so far, that lovely orange would give me a total of 1 think not to dislike! :)

Jim, if you want something to help ruin your appetite, there's also a VW T-Roc convertible in the same mold.
VW has dropped the Beetle convertible, think also the Golf Convertible is no more but makes this thing:

A challenge...bring to the thread examples of 4-door Convertibles.
There are a few. Large long and American also acceptable at at pinch.
This is a real thing but its a one off build and very possibly the only Saab 4-door Convertible in existence.
Frank Rutten from Waalre Netherlands converted the classic Saab 900 Sedan into a 4-door convertible. The basis for the 4-door convertible was a Saab 900 GLS 4-door sedan from 1984, which Frank bought in 2001 for 50 Dutch Guilders. Frank and his family have been using the beautiful yellow Saab convertible for 18 years now.

Daughter #3 had one like that, same colour but not a four-door.
Daughter #2 had two, a dark blue one and a black one.
Currently has an MX5 and had an Escort cab before that.
Daughter #3 also had a Megane cab.
They both seem to favour open top motoring.

In the UK this became a "thing" about 29/30 odd year back if memory serves, it stemmed from Princess Diana driving an Audi 80 cabrio and caused a bit of a stink , What a German car!
So she was given a mini Cabrio, not available at the time it came from a Coach builders I think it was a publicity stunt.
I have been VAG now 31 years, in early years we use to go to shows with cars in the early years so it would of been around 29/30 years back, Anglesey and Erias Park in Colwyn Bay to name but 2, after the mini thing up cropped loads of tents at these events with pictures of Diana's mini all over them and offering to convert your Car "chop top" no matter what it was they said they could do it, basically hack off its roof and strengthening bars all over it and a canvas manual roof, at the time they were sowing an Austin Princess and an Allegro, there was also a triumph dolomite knocking around as well as an SD Rover, cost was on application and model dependant I don't believe it was very affordable for most of us.
There was at the time a MK 3 red Ford Cortina knocking around North Wales "cropped" it was quite a looker with its shiny red paint and double lights and Chrome rims and of course the 4 doors, the fad lasted about 4 years before the tents all disappeared, and we all went back to buying production cabs.

Or short and stumpy and nominally "French". Anyone ever hear of a Citroen C1 Airscape :?: It's a 4-door, and a bit of a rag top for a bit of open-toppage.

A cycling friend of mine once had an EOS (until the engine died spectacularly) and somehow he used to fit a bike into it... Goodness knows how - proper Tetris!
