The yellow one?

One place I lived was over a baker, dry cleaners and workshop and there was always an orange Porsche like that one outside. I was quite desirous of it, just a pipe dream though.

New Open-Top Motoring contributions for the thread welcomed today to mark the thread's selection by The FCF Archives February Ferret 2023

Maybe a bit thin on the ground seeing as its February, on the open road/ or in the car park but...bonus points for an original photo today. Plenty to be found in the auction catalogues though at the usual suspects, Mathewsons, Brightwells, Anglia Car Auctions etc or at https://www.glenmarch.com/

Meanwhile here is a selection from the 161 contributions the thread has received up to now.
Post number 146 has been randomly selected whatever it is...turns out its this original picture fest of a TR8 and an Austin Healey 100-6.

Oh I do like that TR8, especially in that colour :D

Shame the TR8 was as good as stillborn - it really could have been something very special...

Not a single convertible to be seen on my travels today so I thought I'd take the opportunity of posting up my history of convertibles!! :-D

Not having ventured far today the Falcon camera has also drawn a blank on an original photo taken today of a convertible, so I thought I would head on-line for local auctioneers WB and Sons and see what was the "best" convertible in the Falcon's estimation in their on-line catalogue as it builds for the next sale on March 11th.

Austin LS Magenta 1965 in Silver, 1275 cc Engine. Never heard of it...bit of a kit car
An Aston Martin Vantage N400...in the too pricey to be interesting category
A Porsche Carrera S Convertible...in the its a Porsche, its not my cup of tea at all category
Jaguar XKR Convertible/ Jaguar XK8 Convertible....I like the looks, but strangely unloved.
Triumph TR4A IRS...getting better
Alfa Romeo Spider 1997...strange looking things, and largely unloved.
MGTF 2004...another unloved convertible
Tiger Super Cat XL...this one is a Factory Built version of the Kit Car
Mercedes Benz-SL350...Not interested at all in any incarnation of a Mercedes.
Triumph Spitfire Mk III...nice enough if it was nice enough, this example is poor.
Triumph TR6...nice
TVR S2 1990....nice enough, not for me
Caterham Lotus 7...ditto

So I think the pick of the bunch for me is either the Triumph TR4A IRS, or the TR6

Neil

PS my pick of the auction overall is a coupe, and we don't have a thread for that. Totally gorgeous Lancia Fulvia 1300S Coupe. https://wbandsons.com/listing/lancia-fulvia-s2-1300s/ also features in this vid which describes it as an undervalued classic... nice watch just for the parpy exhaust note! Same car as is getting auctioned at WB and Sons March 11th
