There is cable adjustment on the accelerator which may put the pedal at a more comfortable height if you introduce a little slack.
BXs since 1993 built 1.9 TZD turbo, got a S2 Xantia estate, brilliant car! 2013, Xantia HDI LX 110 2000 new car with 122,000, l C2 HDI Rusty rocket, C3 Picasso HDI new to me.

I remember finding the xantia very uncomfortable at first. In my case, I thought the car was designed for people with short legs and long arms, as i practically had to climb out of the seat to reach the gear lever, sometimes.
I could raise the seat, thus bending my knees and moving myself a bit closer, but then my head was touching the ceiling.
I can't say I ever "solved" the problem, but I certainly grew used to it and was very happy to drive Holyhead to Hastings in one go, with no discomfort at the end of the drive.
If your problem is only with one leg, I suspect moving the seat won't be the answer.
Try adjusting the pedal, first. Someone may have fitted the throttle cable incorrectly
