Starting to attempt to get technical now :rofl2:
Just compared my old turbo to my possibly new warranty one the just turned up.
Old one - actuator starts to move at about 20kpa and hits the stop at about 50kpa. Total arm travel is around 5mm
New one - actuator starts to move at pretty much 5kpa and hits the stop at around 60kpa. Total arm travel is around 13mm

Attached a couple of pics, the arm on both naturally sit very different with 0 vac on them

I never had an EML or any other info flagged when my MAF went west - more than once on more than one C5.
New MAF cured it in the first two instances and Carburettor Cleaner spray the third time, about three years ago now!

If you do try cleaning it be very careful with it. Apply the spray liberally but don't be tempted to touch or wipe anything and don't drop or knock it.
The two fine platinum wires are very, very delicate!

Maf is brand new, and not a cheap copy. Even tried the old one. Parts is my job so getting things straight from source and missing out the middle man has it's advantages.
Maf is new, intake pressure is new, intake temp is new, egr was new but got mapped out and blanked, fuel temp is new, fuel filter done twice now, air filter is new, obviously oil and filter is, terracleaned twice, dpf was sent away and cleaned properly with print outs. Obviously turbo is now new too. Vac lines are perfect. Hoses are tight with no obvious leaks.
I had low down power with the old turbo that failed, nothing top end though. Now I've got new turbo with a similar whistle/very dulled down siren, and loads of power after 3k rpm. I just don't get it, unless what I posted above about the old turbo vs the new one is relevant

Ah, right. Do you have any means of testing the boost pressure?

Other than temporarily fitting a boost gauge?

Should be Marc, 16 years and I've never got a turbo for a vehicle wrong yet. Numbers all match. Unless you've spotted something I haven't mate

It's just that they look a bit different in your pictures - maybe the angle.

That'll be my amazingly shocking photography skills :rofl2: :rofl2:

Not sure if it's relevant, but I did notice yesterday in a moment of trying to not so nicely force her to behave, there's very little boost at all in 1st.
Starting to think that actuator arm is set wrong

Can you record the standard air parameters with Diagbox, while going for a short, varied drive?

Morning all, sorry for the complete lack of a reply. Had total chaos on and had to have her backside rebuilt thanks to a sodding moron in a van.

Anyway... Is the repeat sensor supposed to sit at 63 constantly and not move at all? I'm pretty sure I remember someone saying it's supposed to change, and mine just sits there laughing at me?

You should see a copy position of around 65% at idle, that reduces as exhaust flow increases.

Just sits at 63 and doesn't move at all. Both stationary revving etc and out on the road
