That's a good shout in cold weather! Not sure if I can lean out the window that far to take advantage of it though

You need to be careful what you wish for. I worked with a couple of people who had a bit of rivalry in playing tricks on each other. One did the washer jets trick but the payback from the other person who worked in a lab was to put something soaked in the most revolting smell into the other's car air intake.

Well, this will come as a surprise to nobody on here: I'm a muppet

I was always of the belief that video recording on my bike camera was looped in that once the SD card became full the oldest footage recorded would be overwritten - as it is on my car dashcam.

As I've had no reason to look at any video footage for ages, I was dismayed to find my belief was wrong, the SD card was full and the latest video was recorded last year

I must now remember to regularly clear old video from the card. I also found the camera sensor is beginning to fail in that there's a big white line running from top to bottom toward the right-hand side :(

It may soon be time for a new one...

I discovered the same when the previous Mazda was written off.
It does sometimes call for a re-format.

The one before did delete the oldest video so presumed that this one would too.

Seemingly not 😁 instructions say it should loop, and you can't turn this function off. So either it's broken, or you've somehow managed to lock all the footage. Delete it all and then reformat the card and see what happens?

That's what I thought Richard and looking in the setup menus as you say, no mention if it...

I've done a factory reset and reformatted the card so will now keep under observation...

I still think I'm.a muppet for not spotting this happening sooner...

Hard to understand the logic of NOT having a "loop/rewrite" feature....even my antique GoPro has it...

What might have happened is that video clips were tagged as "Read Only" (possibly by the G sensor registering a sudden shock), and, over time, these took up more and more of the available space. Eventually there were no 'normal' clips left to be over-written. I have had this happen on one of my dash-cams.

Got to go on a long ride now Jim to fill it up and check 😁

Went to go out on mine to find the rear flat. Didn't take long to find the hole

Don't think I can patch that :rofl2:

Might be self inflicted as I had it off earlier to fit a new spoke and it didn't want to go back on without catching the tube. Must have gone with a bang

Couldn't yesterday as I was otherwise involved in running activities Richard - details in my blog ;)

I'm planning a test today although it'll take a long, long ride to fill up a 128GB card so I'll pop a 32GB one in ;)

So easy to do Richard... I rarely patch tubes now. I keep a few in stock and somehow I never trust ones I've repaired...

Last evening, before the start of the Wednesday TT race, Jo asked me how she should look when she saw me behind the camera...

I said 'Give me a big smile!'

A good evening for the Monday TT racing this week and despite the heat we saw some very good racing...

The start had to be moved as the normal one was far too congested due to parked vehicles belonging to absolute hordes of wild swimmers who flocked to to river. Never seen so many. Allegedly, the river was full of writing bodies and as congested as the road nearby... Quite what possesses anyone to swim in our local rivers is beyond me totally. They are known to be not very clean and sanitary, especially after so little rain recently. Must be the heat sending people all a bit crazy... In Aus we used to call it 'Going Postal'...

I drove past the location after the race and there were still hundreds of vehicles lining the road in the vicinity of the swimmer's favoured spot and presenting a considerable hazard.

I elected to photograph mid-course in front of a giant cultivated thistle...

Here's one photo I rather like :D

That thistle was a bit of a problem - my lens was keen to auto-focus on it rather than the rider

I've now completed enough miles to give my previously malfunctioning bike video camera a test.

With a 32GB memory card in in I'm happy to see it's properly looping and overwriting the oldest video as the card becomes full.

The sensor is starting to go home though... The white line down the right hand side is present on every recording.
