If it is the fuse you will almost certainly need to clean the motor. The motor has four brushes, and when (NOT if) the carbon dust that is generated mixes with any spilt LDS fluid it combined to produce a conductive sludge. This will cause an increase in the current drawn, and will eventually blow that fuse. This is probably why the C5 I got the replacement BHI system from was scrapped. I paid £40 for the BHI and the maxi fuse box, but quite a bit more for brake cleaning fluid, LDS fluid, a couple of washing up bowls, and so on. I would say the total outlay was about £150. After reading up on the Forum I was able to remove the BHI, get the casing off the motor, and clean up the windings. I was in my local scrappy on Tuesday, and I did spot an C5 X7. Unfortunately it had conventional suspension, otherwise I would have let you know the moment I got back home.
