The end of month milometers dont come up with anything too interesting so for the total miles for August total of 1127 for the Leaf and the Micra, here is the forerunner of the Harrier

So, unlike us, I understand you guys & gals are out of lockdown and so I would have assumed your monthly mileages might be getting back to normal.

However our news outlets are telling us that you've got significant fuel shortages - is this causing people real problems? No doubt the electric boys are laughing - who's got range anxiety now?

Cheers

How to create a major crisis out of a minor crisis. Tell the general public that there is no problem with supply of fossil fuel and 20 million people all head for the fuel stations and fill their tanks to the brim just in case there is.

I admit to adding fuel to the flame. I was about out of petrol, may have lasted until Wednesday but my son was taking it away for the weekend so would be putting at least 300 miles on it.
Should have gone on Thursday but CBA intruded, went on Friday. The usual place was chokka but that is normal for Friday PM, went to an alternative five miles away and no problem, busy but the usual busy for the day, one car in front of me.
Did have a worrisome moment when paying and seeing liquid dripping off the car. Fortunately only water from the aircon - on automatic so it works when it feels like it.
About to retrieve the car and see if I need to do more panic buying.

Just made it all a bit worse too. Got the car and it was empty. He usually gets better mileage than me but only 391 miles from the full tank :(
Went to the same place to fill it. Limited to £30 and people were giving up and leaving as pumps ran dry.
Passed a station out in the country that looked like it was operating normally and only £1.33L
I had to use DuperDooper @£1.56L, cheapo unleaded had run dry.

More super-undeaded.
DSCF3400.JPG
1555.9 as on the trip meter - tallies with the odometer readings too - usually a bit of drift there.
More that the usual 400-ish per month. Son in Scotland and then Brum (Cannock Chase for bikey stuff).

Probably 25~30 miles on foot.

These are the random numbers the mileometers on my Nissan Micra Leaf detached hybrid have ticked over to, as the product of the various journeys made in September.
temp2.png
Micra 70742-70524=218 miles in September
Leaf 45107-44,240=867 miles in September

1085 miles altogether, round about the same as August.(1127)

I only did about 1500 miles in my C5 in total over the last 12 months. That must make my C5 quite 'green' by comparison :-D

If the rest of the UK's car users followed your fine example, and the average annual mileage of all car users was 1500 miles that certainly would put a welcome dent in exhaust emissions, and cars could well last 100 years if they were well looked after. You may be on to something. :-D

When I'm elected Prime Minister I'll outlaw all coffee and cake shops in locations with a good view. That'll have a dramatic impact on total miles covered :rofl2:

Beware, the gilets-tweed would be out in force to defend the right to coffee and cake with a nice view with a vengence, with acts of civil disobedience rivaling the mass trespass on Kinder Scout :-D

Can't find it now but there was recently a pub or restaurant charging people to photograph the view from the terrace. Remarkable sunsets attracted many and crowded out the normal patrons.
May be worth implementing globally. Coffee £3, Doughnuts £4, stare at the view £50.
