I have a set of Wahl mains powered clippers with attachments. I've had them for possibly 30 years and I'm not sure where I bought them, It may have been Aldi or the hairdressing supplies shop we have in the nearby town. The hairdressing suppliers thinks it was probably them but I really don't know.
For my head I just put the required size attachment (3 or recently experimented 4) and then go over my head every which way. My wife then finishes me off along the nape of my neck to get the line straight without any attachments on the clippers' closest setting. I have done this myself in the past but it's difficult and definitely better (and quicker) done by someone else.
I change the attachment for a No. 2 and work my way round my beard. I'll also go round my ears to get rid of the straggly bits that stick out there. If there are any left I'll finish off with the hairdressing scissors which I also use to trim my moustache.
