I do my head with a No. 3 attachment every 4 - 6 weeks although I have just tried a No 4 the last time.

For my beard I use the No 2 attachment every 2 - 3 weeks and then the cut-out bits from my beard with a razor every Monday and Thursday. I used to do the cut-outs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday but that was too much faff.

Enough information?

We've seen some threads wander off-topic, but this takes the biscuit. Gary-baldy, in this case... :)

Nope. I want to know which machine you use and your technique, as I’ve neger been able to find a decent set of clippers to do my hair like that and I’m not sure of the technique to get it all even. I have tried many times!

Yes, this is one of the better meanderings I think.

I have a set of Wahl mains powered clippers with attachments. I've had them for possibly 30 years and I'm not sure where I bought them, It may have been Aldi or the hairdressing supplies shop we have in the nearby town. The hairdressing suppliers thinks it was probably them but I really don't know.

For my head I just put the required size attachment (3 or recently experimented 4) and then go over my head every which way. My wife then finishes me off along the nape of my neck to get the line straight without any attachments on the clippers' closest setting. I have done this myself in the past but it's difficult and definitely better (and quicker) done by someone else.

I change the attachment for a No. 2 and work my way round my beard. I'll also go round my ears to get rid of the straggly bits that stick out there. If there are any left I'll finish off with the hairdressing scissors which I also use to trim my moustache.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

coming back to the original issue of sub-standard Parts....

imagine my delight to have an MOT fail on the Ball Joint I replaced just 2 years (approx 20,000 miles) ago.

At least I know the damn thing 'll come out easily !
