I don't think you ever supplied the VIN - but I am going on the premise that this is the DW10BTED4 engine 2005, so will have the Siemens SID 803 Injection system fitted.

A digit too many there, but if it is P1435, then that does not go into detail, except to say there is no communication with the Additive ECU.
That would explain why it can't be seen by the diagnostic kit to reset it.

The part number (subject to confirmation of VIN) is 1525CY and is widely available for under £20 second hand - or £155.81 from Citroen inc. VAT brand new.

4320: Fuel Tank Filler Cap Presence Switch
1282: Additive ECU
1283: Fuel Additive Pump
9017A (High) & 9018A (Low): 2 CAN connections to the BSI
1284 & 1285: for control of the Additive Pump
4200 & 4201: Fuel Tank Filler Cap Open Outputs
ME128 & B128A: Earth and Power lines linked to ECU.

Hi Simple76
I was wondering if you had fixed the problem. I had the no communication error this January and it magically disappeared ( codes wouldn't clear but then vanished after the car was left standing for a week in snow ) but the "depolution system faulty" message came back last night (2,500 miles later). I haven't had time yet to get the Lexia out to confirm the codes but stumbled across this post as part of my search for information. It looks like the original problem I was seeing.

Thanks,
Tom.

A common problem with these that have separate additive ECUs in that they are notoriously difficult to reset once additive has been added and often require a new additive ECU. If it can't be reset, then you will ultimately get a depollution fault. The system estimates the additive left in the reservoir - it isn't physically measured - so gives you so many files before a permanent warning if it estimates the additive will run out before your next service schedule - based on the miles before next service is due.

A way to tell is check with Lexia what the additive ECU is reporting - and post it here.
