Can you take a few steps back and recap what the situation is as it stands? Don't you have your original RD4 radio? I thought you said you hooked that back up and the parking sensors were working again.

Word of advice - have your laptop wifi card working (i.e. switched on), but don't have an active internet connection - if you do, Lexia / Diagbox will try to contact PSA servers and once it knows you are running a clone it will likely deactivate your software.

As for the stereo situation - it really depends on what you want to achieve and budget.
If you just wanted streaming and bluetooth hands free - you could just have got an RD45 and a revision 'C' MFD (multifunction screen) that looks the same as the bog standard one, but is enhanced and needed to work with the RD45 head unit. You may need the microphone lead - but once coded into your car's BSI that keeps everything looking OEM and provides all the functionality including your parking sensors. But as you have now put this other unit in, have spent the sheckles and can put up with no parking assistance and the like then leave it as it is.

Yeah, I do have the RD4 Radio. As a matter of fact I ordered the Kenwood stereo and replaced it myself.
I never have my wifi-card on my laptop activated. Never. I know the issue about deactivation, yes.
My reader is a little tricky and it took me many hours to figure out how to use it: when I start Diagbox the program will start with changing something in my reader - a new bootloader or so - so I have to start another program - PSA Interface checker install - after Diagbox has started to "inject" an older version into the reader. Then it works.

According to my manual my display is "type C" but I guess that revision C - to use it with RD45 - is another model. Well..I have 5 cars so if I stumble into an RD45 for a resonable sum I can move the Kenwood to one of the others...

Why don't you install something like Joying?

I learned something new the other day that I want to share with you: there is an option to get the parking control sound if your stock RD4 har been replaced.
In Lexia there is an option: send Parking sensor sound through module under steering column or something like that. This option is deafult No and protected by a 5-digit pin-code (which easily can be Googled). Changing it to Yes will do the trick, the beeps are not really that loud as before but it works!

I would advise against this - there are specific options that should be coded as instructed and changing parameters without the correct equipment can lead to problems with the dashboard and other systems.

Generally speaking you're right but this is obviously working. And I'm pretty sure that Citroën themselves have thought of this since there could be cars with different stereo that has parking assistance.

It's not general - my point is that the BSIs and the generic RD4 units are fitted to a range of vehicles in the PSA group - each car is different and has different methods for handling the data and different equipment for displaying this information - including parking assistance and trip display information / temperature etc. Mis-configuring the ECUs with the wrong options for the car can lead to faults and in operability of the car.

I have seen this happen to other members and have spent hours correcting mis-configurations where they could not use their cars, so I have experience of this!
