Correction.

...how great Ian Paice is.

How many psychoanalysts does it take to change a lightbulb?
One, but the lightbulb really has to want to change.
How many Country and Western singers does it take to change a lightbulb?
10. One to actually change the bulb, and nine to sing about how good the last one was.

The new bulbs are very bright and white I’m happy to say, some misting in the case probably as the cap want sealed over the few days delay in completing the job.

I have now noticed whilst nearly blinding myself looking at the headlights that one of the sidelight bulbs is looking a bit pathetic and yellow compared to the other one. So I will swap them out with some spares I have.

So I probably met him, but celebrity names don't really stick with me, Deep Purple had a recording studio in my village and they used to shop in my shop :)

I have a couple of DP albums and love them but rarely bother to see who drummers are.

DP sing one of my favourite tracks - 'When a Blind Man Cries'

Not typical DP but bloody excellent :D

"Fireball" and "The Book Of Taliesyn" are the ones I like, almost every track.
There is another one but that never gets played.

I see "Child In Time" mentioned a lot but have never heard it. Maybe one day.

Deep Purple let me think, oh yes i remember them, not "proper music" as my mum would say :)
Nice Blog Marc, a little worried about where you live if ECP have glass screens to protect the staff, my local estate is affectionately known as the reservation, years back the local pub got rid of glass windows and replaced them with perspex as they were less prone to having the odd chair etc sent through them, locals then decided to use acid/chemicals on them to make them less see through, and i am talking 20+ years ago :)
Police cars had to go round in pairs to stop them getting rolled on their roofs but it is better now, the police don't come round in cars they use helicopters :rofl2:

As for our local ECP/GSF i have to admit they are very helpful, seem to know what they are talking about and still offer a "if it does not fit return it and we will try again " policy, most punters seem to order online and do click and collect, minimises the room for staff errors.
Local motor factors are great if you are prepared to spend a little time visiting them, get to know them and they can find parts that the main 2 cannot supply, and the price is usually very competitive.
As for light bulb replacement i do not use Halfords, i have a son who needs to earn his keep, so i watch him attempt it, let him get the cuts and bruises and then do it myself avoiding the previous methods used by said son :)

A sure case of child abuse there Colin, I’m sure! :rofl2:

I think you’re right about the protective screens given all the complaints and returns that seem prevalent! And I’m in quite a rural area so not a yob problem, just unhappy customers! 😇

Right, I have just gotten the car back from my local Indy - went in for the bush on the lower front OS Pivot Support. As you know Citroen do not supply bushes for these only the £356 support!
Marc Bush.PNG
So just to confirm that I was having a clunking noise intermittently when pulling away a little sharpish or braking suddenly - and worse when going over a pot hole; It was determined that this bush was moving when levered with a screwdriver and was the culprit.

So the bushes are available in kits or from about £10 each and can be done in situ without taking the support off. Worth knowing for future reference.

Also, whilst there, got a call to say the front discs were crumbling and the pads were on the metal. So had those done too They said the discs were one of the largest ones they've seen!

"Deep Purple Overseas Ltd"?

Sorry, bit late to this party - this blog in fact - as busy catching up with others, having resumed publication of mine.

DP always one of my favourite exponents of that genre, so late on Boxing Day 1999 I'm cruising into Montreux, "Smoke on the Water" on the stereo. Pulled up ouside the Grand Hotel (refurb'd so no longer "cold as hell" - mercifully) &, after a wander down to the lakeside to gaze across at the (rebuilt) casino, retired to my room to read "The Making of Machinehead" in the current edition of "Q" magazine (an extraordinary coincidence) & something about a photo looked curiously familiar - glanced out the window & there below was my car, parked in the same spot as the Stonesmobile had been for the recording session. Nothing but respect & admiration for those loonie techies who'd driven a thruppenny bit cab Austin (undoubtedly vastly overladen) over the Alps in winter.
