Did you try ebay searches for "viton 1.8mm" and "viton 1.78mm" ? You should find something close enough.

I've ordered a set of these Mike:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-CITR ... 3193195357
Have a look in the description later down the listing - seems they are suitable for earlier C5s - and I'm also hunting for some Green HNBR ones as back up because knowing my luck the O ring will fall out and forever be lost in the pit.

How much difference are the small differences in measurements going to make? - I mean the ones in the kits are 1.9 or 1.78 as opposed to 1.8 and some are 1.9 x 8.8

I'm going of course by the ones in the kit I mentioned above that are one for the low pressure and one for the high pressure pipe I assume:

7.6 x 1.8mm
8.7 x 1.8mm

Cross section is the more critical, but you should be able to squeeze in an extra 0.1 mm. In some cases (such as the Xantia/XM 6+2 pump outlets) I think that the original Citroen o-rings are a bit undersized, as they always fail, and I have been fitting slightly oversized viton replacements.

On the handful of occasions I've needed O-rings from Polymax, the min order qty has never been a problem because the price has been so low.
Have used them for rings for Valprex (regas) valves, where a 2.6mm cross-section Viton ring gives a far better seal than either Citroen's or Tecnosir's 2mm one. Also for strut tops and heater matrix.
Find their huge range of sizes really useful.

Ok, great, so the consensus is always to go a little over-size but not under, got it.

@ Chris - I wouldn't normally mind buying a few extra (had to buy a bag of 20 cargo boot securing clips once from Citroen, because I snapped just one - and they only sold them in those quantities  ), but as they wanted about 62p each and a hundred of each min (they said they had to make up one size), I wasn't keen on the £120 it would cost :-D

So I'll get a box of green ones or Viton for £10 or so and then I have some spare for my pressure washer!

I hope you never bought them from the eBay seller? They are only about 70p each from the dealer.
I bought 3 of each size from the dealer (some extra as spares) & the total was only £5 something.
Not tried them yet.

I normally always check Citroen prices first :-D - but with getting the left & Right Anti Roll Bar links (decided after all to do both left & right after advice here), the full timing kit (from Citroen) and bu**ering about with these seals I'm a bit all over the place. The ebay seller was flogging Citroen kit - but that was more expensive than the dealer - however I did get the left ARB for £15 and made an offer for the right one (which is the one with slight play) for £25 inc. delivery - so a big saving over the £40 ish there - both genuine ones too.

I'm all 'O' ringed out now as I have spent literally hours looking for a place that has the right ones, the right composition and will sell in small enough numbers - so have carried that over until tomorrow now :-D I'm not sure of course of the actual one I need (size wise) as I'm just going on that dealer link with the sizes from where I ordered - so just want a few spares of each size so I don't get caught out when we come to do the job - and end up dropping the only correct one down the crack in the pit!

I went for Viton rather than HNBR. (6,000 miles a still going strong)!! "Touch Wood" as it seemed to tick all the right boxes. Bought mine from Simply Beraings https://simplybearings.co.uk/ for £9.66 free delivery (2 of each minimum order)
1 x 2mm Section 8mm Bore VITON Rubber O-Rings ,
1 x 2mm Section 9mm Bore VITON Rubber O-Rings,

That's a really useful link for O-rings in small quantities, where price is an issue.
I have used Simply Bearings before (for tiny ballraces for a weather station anemometer) and found them v.g.

Stu, thanks for that link. So just to confirm, yours was leaking in the same place as I’ve arrowhead?

And the larger rings seem to be fine then?

I will get onto them tomorrow. That’s brilliant, thanks.

Sorry not got back sooner. But, Yes, but... mine was not leaking, these are the two o-rings I bought when I replaced my rack, dimensions taken from another, post by Bobbins but fitted nice.

Notes:
........ The two sizes of ring are approx 8mm int dia x 2mm thickness, and 9.1mm int dia x 2mm............

Problem is when you remove the torx screw that holds the pipes in place one pipe did not move without the other so did you order both sizes?
Hopefully, the seals have gone and not the pipes that are cracked, also, as it is stated that the seals only come with the pipes....Did your main dealer actually get new seals or just used the old ones.
Good engineering practice is to replace all seals when a joint is disturbed, Bad Engineering Practice is to use the old seals if the new ones are not available!!

Yes, I ordered the Peugeot ones (one of each in the ebay link), plus for backup I ordered 2 each of the ones you got - identical Viton O rings same size as you.

Picked up the timing kit and pump today, both ARBs now arrived so once I have the additional seals this week, we'll get the job started.

Checked with my dealer and he said that they always replace the seals with the rack - so we'll see - but the PS pipes look in good nick with no rust. If the pipes are bu**ered when we get them off (and thanks for that tip about needing to come off together), then it's got to be a new pipe then.

Update:

Car finally got into the indy today, and they've just called to tell me that it IS the rack leaking! So they will be doing the timing belt replacement and the ARBs, whilst I now source another rack - which WILL NOT BE A CITROEN sourced one after the last fiasco. It turns out I actually had the last one replaced Oct 2014 - so longer than I thought. I'll be giving that company a ring a few posts ago now.
