I shall stick with the correct part number.

I had not thought or been aware of those possible differences.

Thank you again Marc : )

The boot sale has been cancelled due to a soggy field, so the C5 can rest.

At least if the Araldite holds and there is no fluid on the air conditioning pump or floor, it will 100% confirm that the pump leak is the only one.

A friend brought his 20 year old Volvo round to show me today, it has a conventional front to back engine, the room around it was incredible.

It had a coil as well : )

Good evening gentlemen, I fitted a used steering pump today, £30 with postage : )

A fairly simple job, three bolts hold the pump, two require an Allen key and are a bit fiddly to undo through the pulley.

It was not necessary to clamp the rubber pipes, I undid all the fixing bolts and de -tensioned and removed the belt.

Loosened the two feed pipes, then pulled the old pump forward with its feeds still connected.

Bolted on the replacement, removed the metal pipe and fitted it to the replacement, then the rubber pipe, both with little loss of fluid.

I had undone the fluid tank cap to release any pressure.

On starting the system cleared any air from the pump and worked perfectly, instantly.

Happy Easter
