Re: I-spy an Ugly SUV
C'est possible - but perhaps a little too literal. I suspect, in fact, that any corresponding French exclamation would translate into something quite different.

Re: I-spy an Ugly SUV
The whole premise of this thread is flawed - does such a thing as a good looking SUV even exist ?

There is beauty associated with this particular SUV (not the SUV itself of courseMandrake wrote: 07 Aug 2019, 10:51 The whole premise of this thread is flawed - does such a thing as a good looking SUV even exist ?

Have a pop over to POTD, then come back here and tell me which one?

When are the quizzing Cavalry going to arrive to solve my simple little puzzle?
Quizing Dark Arts number 1...
The Google Image Search very quickly that gives you the location of the POTD image
The rest requires a small knowledge of current SUV names or
Quizing Dark Arts number 2
Just google the name and I am sure out will pop our SUV somewhere on the image tab!
.... participators invited!

Re: I-spy an Ugly SUV
The result is... The Stelvio.... which I thought was a type of alternative for sugar, but apparently not

Re: I-spy an Ugly SUV
I must be missing something - a fully functioning brain perhaps? - but you've lost me completely.
As for "attractive SUV" being an oxymoron, I think my Cherokee's quite attractive - in a TonkaToy, Volvo estate on steroids sort of way, but then (while oft cited as being the original SUV) I still think of it as a full blooded 4x4. All of which leads me to the conclusion that SUV's ceased being attractive when they became SUV's.
Before I could submit this, up came Bobbins' post - ah Stelvio, quite forgotten what this Grand Cherokee in a posh frock was called (or am I getting confused with the Maserati version?)

Maybe an early Range Rover, or original Discovery ?

Re: I-spy an Ugly SUV
Yes Bobins the ALFA Romeo Stelvio, and on POTD the "beautiful Stelvio Pass" hairpin after hairpin, and nearly 2000 metres climb...........no doubt the ideal sort of road for the aforementioned Alfa Romeo SUV to thrive on.
Here's 9 minutes of one of those boring videos of cars taken looking out of the windscreen. Still, nice scenery and nice weather. I watched about 30 seconds of it!

Re: I-spy an Ugly SUV
Nothing pretty about that thing. Proportions all wrong. It all went down the drain after the CX.
