@givemeabreak which warning light doubles up as the abs light on the c2 then please would it be the traction control light (car and skid marks) as there is no abs light. If abs is the case then I think the problem could be that I specifically ordered non abs barings but still not sure why it would be the handbrake light that came on after front were changed it was fine when I did the rear ones but came on when the front were done I do appreciate your patience with a incompetent numpty like me lol

On your particular C2, you only have ABS, not ESP - so no traction control or stability programme. I'll have a look at the warning lights in a second for you.

I've sent you a Private Message, as there does seem to be an issue with your VIN after all - so hang on until we have it clarified. Citroen service is not recognising your VIN and the VIS number is saying your car is a 1.4 HDI - so that will be a completely different model..

Post up your reg. plate if you are struggling with your VIN and I will find your VIN number for you.

Ok, got it, seems there was a glitch with Citroen - they've just merged marques and the system has been playing up intermittently. I've masked your Plate now.

Thank-you any help, advice, or info on this will be much welcomed I'm completely stuck with this one the traction control light isn't so much a problem I just presume it's doubling up as the abs light on this so sensors are a good place to start but the the handbrake light is really throwing me

Ok, now we have the VIN sorted - I can confirm no ESP system - only ABS.

There are 3 types of instrument displays depending on Petrol / Sport / Diesel car.

The ABS light is shown below and I have arrowed it in red for you. Ignore the ESP light to the right of the 'ECO' - as this won't be applicable to your car - only models with ESP system fitted.

So I'm still not clear on what it is you've actually ordered - when you say barings - I assume you mean 'bearings' - but that doesn't really help - if you can describe or take a picture of what it is you replaced we can check the part numbers for you.

Doesn't seem much point in having a forum Marc if you're going to conduct discussions my private message and remove posted content. Why mask a registration plate? There is nothing confidential about a reg plate. The OP drives around every day with it written in large font on the front and rear of his car.

Because the OP has already contacted me by PM Sam several times and we have now resolved the VIN issue. Many posters contact me via PM as they prefer not to post this in public. I now often mask these details - or in many cases the OP may edit the info out themselves.

This doesn't affect any contribution you may want to make to the issue.

I know this, my question was why - as in for what reason do you consider the reg shoul not be published on the forum?
GiveMeABreak wrote: 14 Feb 2018, 09:53 This doesn't affect any contribution you may want to make to the issue.
Of course it does. The reason I asked the OP for his reg. was to establish the particulars of his car, that information being necessary, or at least pertinent, in considering the reported problem.

The car is a 2005 C3 5 DOOR SALOON 1.4 HDi 90 Manual gearbox 5 for you information.

I often tend to mask the details as there are restrictions on OPs editing their posts after a certain time, should the OP wish to edit the info out at a later date - as many other OPs actually do after supplying their VINs / other info. There are a significant number of people who obviously do not like posting their details in a public forum, regardless of what you or I may think; given the huge number of PMs I receive. I don't intend debating the matter further with you.

Given that we've established it has ABS and you have fitted non-ABS bearings, then I don't think any more diagnosis is necessary  You will have to get some ABS bearings, and break out the press again. And make sure you fit them with the mag track on the right side, or you will have to do it a third time
