Threads is certainly a disturbing film. Used to be on YouTube but not currently.
It is available on the Internet Archive though.
More current is Survivors.

Remember these.? All our yesterdays
Time for a bit of nostalgia from the December 1960 issue of good housekeeping magazine.....
The link being Micks mentioning of Calne on the whatsthisthen? thread. Never even heard of Calne before but it was the home of these things.

I don't know Calne it but probably too picturesque to have a Sausage Factory in the middle so unsurprisingly the wrecking ball arrived, and no doubt it has been replaced with much needed expensive housing now
Regards Neil

Bizarre though this may be, but when driving through Calne I often get reminded of Colditz so I have just taken the trouble to investigate, and if you are of equally warped mind to me you may see the similarity!!

For some reason, the Harris' Sausages advert reminds me of this from NTNoCN

Thanks Bobins. I let the clips autoplay on for a while excellent stuff. Funny how these little clips and sketches for me from the likes of Monty Python, Not the Nine O'clock News/ Smith and Jones etc stay with you.

Now Mel Smith did a sketch as Arthur Negus in which his rather funny punchline was "Its a china t*t"
10 points for finding it,
10 points for finding it,

Only the BBC could have produced this, and plums were compulsorily handed to out to all participants to ensure the appropriate manner of speech. (Saying that old Arthur Negus got a bit of West Country in for a small amount of balance!)

I don't remember all of those but I do remember: Muffin the mule, The flowerpot men, Andy Pandy and Dickson of Dock Green.

And here'e a little quiz you might like to have a go at. There are 30 theme tunes and you have to name the programme before the answer comes up. You could pause to think at any time but I didn't and I managed to score a pathetic 13 out of 30. There are a few american programmes that I have never even heard of so the score is not quite as bad as it looks, but give it a go and another 15 minutes of your life will have been consumed
