Whats wrong with the existing brakes and suspension of an AX. What differences would there be compared with the AXGT? According to what I understand it is only the AXGTi that has uprated brakes and suspentions.

If you want an AX GT with a sound engine, gearbox and all the other things you will need, drop me a line as one of the other Administrators has one sitting in his front garden, it had a slight disagreement with a wall. Pics are available of this car.

Check with your insurance company BEFORE you do anything. In most cases they will refuse to insure it at all, nevermind increase it.I'm an old geeser now and its a struggle to find anyone to cover a standard(ish) ZX Volcane if I put a Roll cage in it. Image telling them youve put a AXGT engine in a 1.0 without the brakes and suspension to match! If you do find a daft insurance co,let me know!

the exisiting brakes on the standard AX are poor, if your putting more power in you defo need to put better brakes on it.
The AX GTI has Vented front discs and thats about the only difference between the GT & GTI. the GTI did have the option of anti lock brakes but its unlikely there are many of them around.
Im pretty sure you need to change near enough al lthe forn tend over to convert to VTR/S. try checking out www.ax-rated.co.uk, its the temporary home of the AX Owners Club.

I will arrange to get some pics on here this afternoon. Its a Grey 1990 GT with 90,000 miles. The rest of the car is in very good condition, engine and gearbox are sweet, and the interior is mint.
Im in Somerset, just of the M5 about 30mins from Bristol.
