As I mentioned earlier all the C5s I have seen in the diagrams have the connections as per the wiring diagram I posted - I do believe that some of the wires may be for other parts possibly not associated with the Power Steering. If you are going to look at some other C5s, then see if you can see where the other wires go to from the harness.

The power steering pump and screen washer pumps are next to each other under the wing, maybe that's what the other wires are for.

I've seen drawings for how the wiring looms are affixed to the body for other cars. Would one of these show anything relevant?

Have a rummage through this lot, maybe someone can decode it and make it understandable.

Useful Gibbo - but the OP has a MK II and I've had a look at the diagrams for the PS and they are the correct ones - without knowing what component you are looking for it's really not easy to get a diagram as they only show the wiring for the specific system requested and not the overall as it would be too complex.

Modern wiring diagrams like those in the Citroen manuals give me a headache #-o , the good old Lucas ones were easy to read and understand and the colours standardised.

.... even matched! You are absolutely right, bad enough that not all the pin positions are right yet alone the wiring sleeve colours.

With you 100% there Gibbo.

I first came across the dreaded continental wiring colour system some 40 years ago when I was stripping a Mk1 Opel Manta as a source for spares for the Vauxhall Chevette rally car I was building. I was absolutely horrified by the wiring as they seemed to be nearly all black. Worse, you could follow a wire and then it would change colour after a joint or junction. I was so glad that the Chevette had a wiring loom using the Lucas system that I could easily understand.
