A mixed bag of failure for me today:

Original - knew the song after 12secs but not the artist
Old 00s - not a clue
New 00s - not a clue
90s - no show
80s - knew the artist after 5secs but not the title
70s - knew the artist after 5secs but no title
60s - recognised but no idea
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Falcon demolishes Heardle
Falcon 5 Heardle 1
Original (2 secs) 60's (17 secs) 70's (17 secs) 80's (8 secs) 00's (6 secs)
Match analysis
Superb chance-taking from Falcon to race into a 4-0 lead before the now customary Heardle no show. Falcon immediately made it 5-0 pouncing on a schoolboy error from heardle with the 2000's, before heardle registered it's scant consolation with a dubious bit of foul-mouthed garbage.

Original: Two seconds
Sixties: Familiar intro but ultimately a complete fail.
Seventies: Fail.
Eighties: Fail. Thought I had it, couldn't have been wronger.
Nineties: Fail. Unavailable but wouldn't have got it anyway.
00s: Fail. If this came on it would be skipped after a few seconds anyway.
New 00s. Fail, As above.

Another dire day at the Manor. Just got the 60s on the 17th second but total failure for the rest. I didn't even recognise any of the tracks after seeing the answers!! 8-[

Falcon edges win in close contest

60's (17 secs) 80's (5 secs) 90's (12 secs) 00's (10 secs)
Match analysis
Close encounter of the cosmic kind, but Falcon bagged the 60's at the last second, which ultimately secured the win.

Normalish service resumed today, 5secs for the 60s, vague recognition of the rhythm guitar in the 80s and nothing else to record! :)

Heardle no match for on-form Falcon
Falcon 5 Heardle 2
Original (16 secs) 60's (2 secs) 80's (2 secs) 90's (2 secs) 00's (2 secs)
Match analysis
Falcon rattled in some quick-fire scores, after a well worked opener. Heardle never in the contest.

Random quiz question generated from a page in my 1972 quiz book!!

A famous incident occurred on 27th August 1883 which had an instant effect up to 3000 miles away, and a prolonged effect for months. What was it? :-D

So top of the head, a volcanic eruption would be a reasonable incident to fit the bill and, cause such an effect, when was Kracatoa? (probablly spelt that incorrectly but you know what I mean).
