What is the characteristic of a really good song :?: Maybe that has simply seeped, like it or not, into instant recognition.

Try heardle today, and see if you get it in one second. By no means a favourite artist or favourite song of mine, but just so instantly recognisable, and crafted by a hugely successful artist and songwriter.

Give it a go...

Had to wait for the 8" clip.
As with so many now I can listen for several minutes, knowing that know it but unable to put a name to it.
Used to recognise them within four notes. Often it is finished before I twig it.

Thanks for devising the quiz Bobins, as ever I enjoyed my delve. I had never heard dirty laundry by Don Henley before, should have done, because I like his stuff. Still a very valid song today.

Thanks bobins!! :) 10 points duly accepted even though I think that may be over generous!! :-D
Sorry not to have got more into it but I just don't enjoy listening to any new to me stuff these days, my music memory is full with no room for anything made after 1975!! :-D

Failed on the heardle but if anyone wants a cryptic clue "A type of UFO" and my little picture of some 3/6 books on "Remember these all out yesterdays" should allow you to select the right track from the suggestions...

Worldle Today is a "Jolene by Dolly Parton" one second open goal day on world le. Good day for your first try.

Wordle
I have witnessed a bullseye on Wordle from my armchair, but today was my own best ever performance. With the initial letter from my first word being green and no others right, I hit the five greens on my second go :-D ,
One of those that, without that initial letter, could have quite a number of alternative possibilities to waste attempts on.

Nerdle A near fail 5 on Nerdle

Heardle simple case of didn't know it, although folk who like their stuff would get it straight away.

Wordle

Nerdle got it in 4

Heardle ...recognised the tune and having some resemblance to Milkshake by Kelis, minor amount of enquiry and up comes one of my favourites "get Ur Freak on" by Missy Elliot.....bingo in 16 secs :-D
