Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Lets not forget Clarence Seedorf as well, won 3 or 4 champions leagues with 3 different clubs, Ajax, Real Madrid and I believe an Italian club but not sure which!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

The Rossoneri, Mick when they had their dominant period in the sun, with some very classy players.mickthemaverick wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 20:51 Lets not forget Clarence Seedorf as well, won 3 or 4 champions leagues with 3 different clubs, Ajax, Real Madrid and I believe an Italian club but not sure which!!

Again easy challenge to beat the Falcon today....I'm just learning as far as the location of countries in some parts of the world go, so with my own constraint of not using maps for my six attempts, I have failed to get the answer today as well. Never afraid to miss though.
Todays Worldle its geography not words, if you want to have a go. A miss for the falcon today
New to try Nerdle-For those who like numbers. Hard to beat the falcon today, got it on my 3rd guess.
Regards NeilBit of reading of the help required but the answer you look for is a mathematical equation using numbers 0 to 9 and the operators +, -, x, / and one =.
Eight characters to complete for each guess, six guesses. Green right position, purple in the expression but wrong place, black not in the expression eg the answer could be at its simplest
101-4=97 (eight characters one =)

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
This may be considered cheating on my part but there is a reason (I'm lazy ). Following on from the Africa theme here is a quiz set in one of my old quiz books published in 1974. So all questions are preceded with "In 1974.......etc"
1. Which is the longest river in Africa?
2. What is the former name of Ghana?
3. Which is the largest city in Africa?
4. Which is Africa's highest mountain and what country is it in?
5. (a) Kimberley and Johannesburg are famous for what respectively?
(b) What is the chief product of the island of Zanzibar?
6. Which is the largest lake in Africa and by which countries is it bounded?
7. Where is Timbuktu?
8. Name the two knigdoms in Africa?
9. How did the capital of Liberia get its name? (Hmmm)
10. Which African countries does the equator pass through?
11. Name the coastal countries of Africa from Ghana north and east to Egypt?
12. (a) Who first traversed the continent of Africa from North to South?
(b) Who discovered Lake Victoria?
(c) Who discovered Victoria Falls and Lake Nyasa?
That should keep you busy for 5 minutes!

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
So just to set a benchmark for my top of head knowledge, which I dont expect too much of because I dont know that much about Africa and I suspect I wont be alone in that. So the spoiler has my TOH attempts.mickthemaverick wrote: ↑20 Feb 2022, 17:25 This may be considered cheating on my part but there is a reason (I'm lazy ). Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Thanks Mick, in spite of the many incorrects I was quite pleased with the ones I got right, more than I thought.
I'll enjoy researching the rest. Maybe to save you doing too much 'marking' you could put the answers on your card in a spoiler so they can be checked off. I shoved the Welsh International footballer born in Zambia in my original question.
Regards Neil

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Another geography question...in a roundabout way.
Regards Neil
If you do your Worldle the Country was yesterdays answer.I need a Capital City and a footballer... again!
At the end of MOTD 2, they played a clip of some of the players from over 100 nationalities have scored in the premier league, following Kosovan Milot Rashica scoring for Norwich against Liverpool.
I think the Newcastle United Player shown in the closing titles, famously kicking the advertising hoardings after scoring is the top scorer with 8 goals of 5 players from his country who have played in the premier league.
What is the capital city of the country of his birth and what is his name.

Re: Pickled Egg Quiz
Well done Mick a very odd celebration Had to rephrase the question because I thought he would be the only player from Georgia to play in the premier league but there were 4 others with the most notable being Georgi Kinkladze for Man City and Derby County.
