Re: Snow good!
Similarly to Paggers we had a mild sprinkling, no competition for the Northern Wastelands I'm afraid!

Re: Snow good!
Bugger all here.
Last Saturday I went to my daughters, usually takes ten minutes.
She texted me over an hour later wondering where I was.
I was 1/4 mile from hers. Had parked on a different road due to the snow, lost my bearings and plodged round the whole estate (it all looks the same) knee deep in snow.
I was delighted to spot her house - her exterior tiles are green while all the others are brown.
When we left I could see my car, and hers a couple of hundred yards away at the bottom of the footpath. Hadn't even seen her car when I parked.
Should have gone to s... taken the satnav
Tons of snow and only a couple of miles from mine.

130 million years. It wasn't an asteroid that did for the dinosaurs, it was the barb wire fences that blocked their migration routes, stopping them getting to their preferred breeding/feeding grounds!NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑22 Jan 2021, 20:16
wonder what the half-life of rusty barbed wire is?

Re: Snow good!
My way to judge how cold it is is to breath out hard. I then watch the condensation. I have seen it "six inches cold", "two feet cold", and (on one VERY cold day) "three feet/six feet cold" (joking, where the condensation got so cold it froze and fell out of the air after it had travelled three feet!).

I just look out of the kitchen window and see if there is any steam coming out of the boiler flue.
Have you seen that video, Russian? where they throw a pan of boiling water out of an upper floor window and it falls as snow?

That's the sort of thing - only I was a few miles out.

Ideally for me it needs to be at least+20c. I don't think I should have been born here.
