Hi Iain.....yeh I think so. I hope to have a good go at it over the winter months and get it back to a condition the car should be in. I think it is fantastic people like Stuart offer their cars up to the "community" in an attempt to get them into the hands that will look after them, so many cars like this get torn apart for parts or just get trashed till the MoT runs out.

Definitely true, Alasdair.

I've done that with the last three cars I've sold. Firstly because I always like to keep a car "in the family" if I can. Also because sales to the general public are just so much of a pain.

To the extent that when I moved down here I have my VW T25 project to someone over on the Lada UK forums (first forum I ever used I think!), rather than faff about selling it.

When the 107 comes up for sale it will be getting done through this very forum., That I guarantee pretty much.
Current fleet:
07 Volvo V70 SE D5, 88 Renault 25 Monaco, 85 Sinclair C5, 84 Trabant 601S, 75 Rover 3500, 73 AC Model 70.

This forum is the ONLY way I'll trade in cars now... I will consider no other... Not for any price...

What happened with this? hope it's in good hands now and recovering? I'm just glad it was a petrol, if it'd been a TD I'd be kicking myself for missing it!

Aren't they just...

Having seen this particular car in the metal I love it and could easily fall for it despite it being far too big for me...

The interior is just lovely, beautifully designed and very stylish...

One thing I was surprised about was it having 2-pin diagnostic connectors despite being a 1996 car :o

This will emerge from your garage a really fantastic car Alasdair.. And a very desirable one...

Stripping the power steering tank and gubbins off the inner wings at the moment to sort out the two localised holes, I have cut out the small (again localised) rust patch on the outrigger behind the lower front wing and made the template, welding starts over the weekend and she should be good and solid then. All polishing is on hold untill it is solid again.

Don’t forget it needs a new windscreen washer unit (unless repairable). My guess was access is through the wheel arch. Maybe now would be a good time if you’ve got that area exposed to save faffing around later. Bonne chance!

Ssh... it might hear you. Elderly French ladies can be quite sensitive (so I’m told!)😳
