Re: Michel's Motors
Very strange, I think this may be a 'throw away the spade' situation!!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

That's great news MikeMichel wrote: 30 Dec 2024, 19:46 The noise had gone. Totally. He checked it very thoroughly. No witness marks, no belt rub. Levering the pulleys showed them to all be stable and sound. I'm baffled, he was a bit baffled.

Re: Michel's Motors
Well. I woke up bored on new year's day. I asked myself what I could do that would be impulsive and silly.
"I know, I'll get a friend to drive me 100 miles in torrential rain, then I'll buy an insane motorcycle I've never ridden, then ride it the 100 miles home in a storm. That's pretty silly".
So, I did...
Behold, a 1997 ZZR-1100. Only 16k miles from new. Stored for many, many years before the previous owner bought and recommissioned it.
It was an interesting ride back, that's for sure. My BMW has ABS, traction control, linked brakes and 90bhp.
The Kawasaki has none of those, and 147bhp.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Re: Michel's Motors
If any of you want to know more about this motorcycle, this chap describes it well. I'd skip to about 4 min 44 secs unless you like waffle about spec and history.

I fear your driving licence might become an endangered species

Re: Michel's Motors
Always fancied one. I had a carbed Blackbird back in 1999. Similar specs and power, mind blowing back then. Cruised down from Hull to Derby one Sunday afternoon at 150mph (private road called the 'M'y One)
One thing I would say Mike. I pressume this is also a carb model at that age, use top end fuel with minimum ethanol in it. I also use a fuel stabilizer. Taking a bank of 4 carbs off to ultrasonic them with the original airbox in place is no fun.
