Michel's Motors
I have pics too. Just the French ones and a couple of oddities rather than all of them..

Michel's Motors
That is a fair collection Mike! I have 91 pictures in my album and another 23 that I can remember but have no pictures of. Here are the five more unusual pics from my album:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I've no idea why there's three Xantias at my house in the second pic
Old timers on the forum will recognise both cars in the first pic..

And finally, the death and vague reincarnation of my Activa, when Mrs. Michel, being a shortarse, didn't judge a gatepost properly.. 2011..

Michel's Motors
They're all fantastic, especially the Messerschmitt. My dad had arranged to buy one to restore in mid 1985 , but he had a heart attack and my mum made him cancel the deal.

Two of them Jim, I believe the blue Xantia parked behind the HDi in the first picture is your V6, when you came to have a look at the red Activa, which is just behind it - likely with you in it taking it for a quick test drive.

Back in 2014 you supplied this to the "First Car's thread" I thought I had seen that pic of the Skoda before somewhere.

A 120L Estelle, 1982 model. Sadly this is the only picture I've got of it. I acquired it in 1988 for the princely sum of £90 with 33,000 miles on the clock. It was so cheap as the insurance company had written it off - the missing back bumper, bent rear chassis outrigger and rear crossmember, the broken headlight and the ruined gearshift told the tale. The original owner from new, an older gentleman, had a sloping drive way , in fact, his house is the bungalow here :
Now, if I tell you that he parked nose-in, and left the handbrake off.... it's easy to see why the car might have rolled down his drive, across the road, down the grass banking and ended at about 60 degrees to vertical resting on it's rear OS corner in the river. The front wing was damaged when it fell into the river when it was pulled out.
I fixed it for about a tenner and a bit of filler and paint!
Like others, I found driving underpowered, low-grip, ill handling cars at slow speed a great help in learning how to control a car!
Was the GT750 kettle that horrid 2-smoke tourer type thing? I have ridden one, years and years ago. It was pretty horrible compared to the RGV250 smoker I had at the time. I rode a Suzuki with a square-4 smoker, a sporty thing around the same time, but I can't remember what it was. It was pretty good fun though!

2012 somewhere I recognise. Presume this when I bought the silex grey V6 off Chris Citroenmad, Chris bought DickieG's Xantia HDi estate and we all met halfway at Jim's.

Re: Michel's Motors
And the XM that's outside your garage. I think it's the black 2.0TCT, not the later V6 you had.

Re: Michel's Motors
Well spotted Mike
I'd completely forgotten I'd had a couple of XMs amongst a lot of Xantias. Such is the state of my memory
In truth, although I tried really hard to like them and for reasons I can't really put my finger on, I never quite 'gelled' with an XM and maybe that is why they no longer figure in my memory.

Nor me Jim, I had 3. Perhaps it's the bony arse that slides around in the massive seats that I have..CitroJim wrote: 22 Jul 2024, 09:13 In truth, although I tried really hard to like them and for reasons I can't really put my finger on, I never quite 'gelled' with an XM and maybe that is why they no longer figure in my memory.
