It is Mark, but worryingly (must be old age), I prefer driving the Grand Picasso. I'm struggling to understand it myself.

Look on the plus side, you're not the utter total nutcase considering buying a very broken invalid carriage!

Some of us are just doomed!

Not really. The heated leather Recaros in the Focus are very good and the driving position is excellent!

It'll still be dirty again once I've driven it a couple of miles Jim. That's what I don't get about those who enjoy this detailing and cleaning lark. I get doing it properly, once, but these who do it repeatedly (on the same car)... a mystery to me.

I washed it on Monday and waxed half of it. Then I couldn't resist going to work in it on Tuesday could I? Result.. well, I had to wash it all properly again and dry it off before I could finish the waxing. I did the whole car again anyway.

Activa was clean on Sunday. Looks like I've been rallying in it again now!

Really want to get it clayed, polished and drowned in wax. Not least because once you've done that you can just hit it with the jet wash from a safe distance and watch all the gunk slide off!

Really good wax is a major time saver in the long run I reckon. Then again, I find valet/detailing work quite therapeutic, so am probably biased.

Ha. You think? I'd be right there with you with the Invacar or any other mad stuff if I had a bit more space! I want a Sinclair C5 first though.

As I've seen in practice with my Saxo, a good waxing makes the car so much easier to clean as the muck just falls off..

Maybe I should polish the Ka but I fear it would be a waste of good polish

I hoped I'd find it therapeutic Zel as I've been a bit edgy recently but it made me more frustrated.

Weirdly, I find cleaning interiors very therapeutic and my cars are generally spotless inside!

I've just had a curious dream where I drove up the M40, M42, and M6 on a Friday evening for 215 miles and didn't get stuck in traffic. How very odd....

I was also happy with the fuel economy from the Grand Picasso.. especially a 1.8 petrol! A most relaxing drive.

Pure fantasy. Don't worry, you'll wake up shortly and it'll all be normal again.

I've been irregularly making the journey from Sussex to Yorkshire about 10 times a year on Friday nights for the last 15-20 years. I've probably had 2 or 3 clear runs in that time #-o
