Re: Glovebox removal access blower resistor pack
I can get one delivered from ebay tomorrow for £25. Is likely to be the culprit. I know you cant be sure but this seems to be a problem with Citroen.
Just off the for to Citroen Glasgow, they quoted £135. They say it costs them £90.
If this part fails will this stop the blower from working or will the blower be stuck on full speed. I keep hearing different things over the last couple of days during my research.

Re: Glovebox removal access blower resistor pack
No problems. I just hope this is the culprit. I should of said also to check the fuses - and when I say check the fuse - I don't mean a quick look to see if there is a break in the middle. These blade fuses can suffer from galvanic corrosion - if any of the metal legs covered by the plastic of the fuse look 'milky', change the fuse.

Re: Glovebox removal access blower resistor pack
I was at this stage when I popped it back in and it worked again - and still continues to work. It's got to be worth trying it back in first of all.

Re: Glovebox removal access blower resistor pack
I noticed that my battery is not fully charged and I read somewhere that this could be a cause, but then again when i'm driving at 70mph, that should generate enough power to the car.
I checked my alternator charge and its charging the batter fine.
I've got a new one coming tomorrow so i'll just wait as I don't want to keep squeezing into that tight space with my sore back lol.
Thanks all for the help. I was a member of the C4 website for years with my C4 (I won't name it incase it breaks rules) that was a good help. So far this site has been a good help too. I will try and do a few how to's when I maintain my car. I do an oil and filter change every 6 month. I did have a how to for the C4 fuel filter that should be similar for the C5 I think.

Re: Glovebox removal access blower resistor pack
I just plugged it in and left it dangling and then started the engine, still no luck. When I took the part out again it was warm, not hot but room tempish.

heater blower not working
Took my car for fuel and a wee run. Battery charging ok and fully charged, but a funny thing is happening, when I went to put one of my windows down a little with the ignition on (just turned on) the car was in power save mode to save the battery from draining. Their must be something draining the battery and therefore turning power save mode on. I have put my dehumidifier in the car to take any dampness out as its been lying in arnold clarks for past 2 weeks. I'll buy a battery charger and fully charge the batter I have in the garage and swap them over just in case its the battery thats not got enough charge in it.
I tried the BSI reset procedure to no avail either.

Re: Glovebox removal access blower resistor pack
Gary, the economy mode will kick in to save battery and you will only get so much time added again based on the length of the previous run before the engine was switched off again. So an hour uninterrupted drive will give you UP TO 30 mins before it kicks in again. If charging on the car, and you have the battery charge status device attached to the negative terminal you need to ensure that the negative charging clamp is attached to the device and not the battery terminal.

Re: Glovebox removal access blower resistor pack
Fitted the new blower control module that I got from ebay, the only problem now is that it only works on one setting. Thankfully it seems to be a low setting so i'm not too bothered at the moment as it will de-mist the windscreen.

Re: Glovebox removal access blower resistor pack
Been driving quite happy this last week with the blower stuck on a low setting but I have noticed that when I start the car the blower is on high for a second before going back to the low setting. Might do another BSI reset to see if that might rectify this.

Re: Glovebox removal access blower resistor pack
This seems like an odd fault. I'm guessing the blower control module is actually a PWM MOSFET module that takes a reading from the front panel air conditioning controls. If the new one isn't working then it suggests that it may not be receiving the correct signal to set the fan speed with.
