2.2 205bhp is still faster than 2.7 V6. :P

Only reason to choose 2.7 is better sound.

1 MPH faster! and it's 200 BHP not 205.
Regardless, it will be down to availability as there are only 5 x 2.2s available on Autotrader as an example in the UK, and 3 x 2.7s and zero 3.0s, finding a good low mileage example will be very tricky. About 5 of these have over 100k miles in the clock.

Incidentally, no one of those I looked at had a decent specification either - no Xenons, no full leather, and not a single one had Sat Nav either - so depending on what you are after Nigel, I would keep an eye out as it is likely any 'tidy' one with a decent spec. will be bagged straight away.

Difference in 0-100km/h time is huge between 2.2HDi 205bhp and 2,7HDi 205bhp, V6 is over second slower according to some sources. 4-cylinder engine must be much lighter, and there must be also something different with gearbox (or it's software). It's huge difference, and 2.2 has also 2,4l/100km lower fuel consumption (6,1 vs 8,4). So that older V6 isn't very good option in my opinion.

Finding C5 X7 with proper engine and specification isn't easy in Finland either. There's normally 2-5 over 2 litre diesel engined C5 X7 on sale in Finland at the same time, and many of them are those 2,7 which I dislike. I was looking for that 2.2HDi205, but then came across this 3.0HDi240 that had nice specs and right price.
