My guess would be the A1 between Northumberland and Edinburgh...

Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
It must be the other end of this unless there are 2 clearways in Scotland which are exactly 124 miles long!

PS Got the answer from here.....a little way down. Who would have thought it someone on the net is compiling a list of British Clearways

It just reinforces my belief there's a forum for everything and the answer to anything can be found somewhere on the 'Net if you know how to look
You have a rare skill in that respect Neil I applaud you

A list of Clearways ???!!?
Wake me up when it's done, someone...
Btw, on that 124-mile stretch, are there any reminders along the way? Could you plead Guilty on the grounds that you'd entire forgotten the warning an hour or two back?

Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
Can't remember if there are signs, must be I guess. There is a laybay about every 1/2mile - stopping on the main carriageway would be pretty suicidal most of the time!!

Notices..what have you spotted?
Whatever happened to this word..
Impracticable
There is/was at least one survivor of those signs in situ near Knill which made it to the 2000's
and at least one fingerpost sign just out of St Winnow and heading towards Lostwithiel in Cornwall

Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
The word is too big for the modern generation
It needs to make a comeback as given the potholes that abound now, many roads are almost impracticable...
Steve, love your sign
Buglary sounds really quite nasty... I'm definitely keen to prevent it....

Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
On the BBC Breakfast News this morning there was footage of a large pothole (and vehicles taking avoiding action). Some of the footage was filmed by a BMW driver who hit said pothole and got both a puncture and a steering faulty. Apparently insurance claims for pothole damage are up 300% compared to last year (4,200 so far this year), with the average cost being around £1,000 (about £1,000,000 per month!).

This 'pothole' opened up here in Midhurst on Wednesday afternoon - causing mild chaos as it's on one of the main roads that pass through the town. Southern Water are 'looking into it'

Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
I know that first picture well, its just leaving Perth northbound on the A9 and the other end is indeed on the Cromarty bridge. I watched that 'new' A9 being built every year from the '70s on our annual trip to Scotland, lovely at first but they are now dualling it because of the tremendous increase in traffic.

Re: Notices..what have you spotted?
I found this rather novel, in Newbury earlier.
For reasons known to no-one, least of all me, I didn't bother to take a pic, but someone has before me and posted it online.
