Re: C5 Door Switch Location
Very true, I've seen a good few wire breaks inside the 'flexible' shielding tube - although I have to say the X7 ones do seem a bit more robust - but then if the wiring department fitting guy on a particular shift at the factory was feeling a bit tight one day.....

Re: C5 Door Switch Location
Yeah, I can't fault the mechanism, it must just be the micro switch. Why they couldn't have used a £1 switch that was pressed by the door frame I don't know....

Nor can I. They need to match up though really as otherwise it might cause more problems. That one looks a bit knackered though TBH - looks like it's been underwater a few times!

Yeah it's a bit of a minefield. Do you know id the lock mechanism is connected by the CAN so it will need coding or is the lock unit just dumb collection of solenoids and switches?
This one looks in better condition, might be worth a go.

Re: C5 Door Switch Location
There were two types of lock fitted to the C5 X7 for the first few years of the production run. The 9136EG (interchangeable with the 9136GQ) which should be fitted up to 31/12/2011, and the 9800618580 which should be fitted from 01/01/2012. Now, those dates seem a little convenient for me, but they're what Citroen list So if you get a used right hand front lock from a pre-2012 car then it should fit and work OK. I'm a little suspicious of the changeover date, so I wouldn't mind putting a very small (actually, tiny) wager* on the fact that all the right hand door locks are interchangeable.

Re: C5 Door Switch Location
Right, what I can tell you is that the modules are linked to each other - driver's to passenger's to rear doors. Also there are 2 types of central locking - simple and central deadlocking (which you have). Now from below you can see that the front left hand door (6202) has more wiring options than the right hand mechanism - so I suspect that this might be for continental left hand drive models - so the driver's one over here might be 6202 and the passenger 6207.....
I've not included the both the rear doors or the boot part, as the 6217 was the same.
6207: front right-hand door lock assembly
6204 : Right-hand front lock locking + command
6205 : Left-hand front lock deadlocking + command
6206 : Right-hand front lock deadlocking + command
6914 : front left door open switch
M6207 : EARTH m6207
6202 : front left-hand door lock assembly
6203 : Left-hand front lock locking + command
6205A : Left-hand front lock deadlocking + command
6206A : Right-hand front lock deadlocking + command

6917 : front right lock position information
6915 : front right door open switch
6212 : rear left-hand door lock assembly
6204 : Right-hand front lock locking + command
6205: Left-hand front lock deadlocking + command
6209 : Left-hand front lock locking position info
M6217 : EARTH m6217
6250 : Right-hand rear door child safety info
6287 : Right-hand rear door open switch input (BSI)
So it might be significant for the parts to match - who knows - if it's cheap enough to experiment with a second hand one and it won't break the tuition budget.... But in either case the one you linked to above is not even a correct part number - so could be of a lower spec model. If you are going to chance one, at least try and find out if it came from an Exclusive, so at least the deadlocking will be on there, which will also narrow the error rate!

Interesting that you should find the different options, Marc, as the generic X7 search I did only came up with the following lock options for the right hand lock:

Right, that's interesting. So I'm guessing the push to make switch inside the module is the actual door open switch (Wire 6914). I see what you mean about the deadlocking, I'm guessing a unit without it would only have the one motor.
Is it only the exclusives that had deadlocking?

Re: C5 Door Switch Location
Regarding the deadlocking - sometimes it's not just the spec. Elis, it can also be dependent upon the destination country.
Some places might not allow deadlocking - possibly places like Sweden where they are more concerned about getting you out of the car in an accident than letting some crim break your car windows, but not letting them open the doors to get in - or out!

Re: C5 Door Switch Location
Yes, I never do a generic search as the results i've found are not always correct, so I always use a VIN to get the correct options for the specific car, then toggle the filter
for the extras that are not fitted / other parts. I find it works best for me that way.
So for Elis's car, you can see the options that I couldn't see on your list:

Re: C5 Door Switch Location
Makes sense, I would hope that all UK C5's would have deadlocking considering my old focus did!
I'm going to take a chance and do my best to get a pre 2012 unit.... take it apart if I can. I might be able to replace the actual microswitch maybe?

Bobins.PNG
So we both end up with the deadlocking lock - 98 006 185 80
As 9136EG and 98 006 185 80 are interchangeable, that really does widen the years that Elis can get a second hand one from as 98 006 185 80 is post 2012.
I think our undoing will be that we both put far too much faith in the parts listing being correct
