I've got the tools and the enthusiasm but at 82 I'm not sure I have the staying power. :)

Well I don't have ALL the tools, missing a four post lift and at 71 have lost the enthusiasm for rolling around on concrete floors :-).

That came at a much younger age for me!

Having said that I'm just girding my loins to go outside to fit an auxiliary rear spring kit on our Peugeot 308 Estate. I have a new toy which makes life sooooo much easier. It's my AEG 1/2" impact gun.

It's transformed wheel changing. Whereas it would take 20 - 30 minutes to change a couple or three wheels around now it's a 10 minute job. And when I was untangling the dried grass from the bearings on the deck of my sit-upon Westwood grass mower, the job was over and done with in 30 minutes - something I would probably have dedicated an afternoon to before.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

That looks a nice bit of kit, how much did it rob you? Just got a new compressor so I can bring my impact gun to bear on the 206 rear beam job but an electric one could be handy

My brother bought it for me and I think it was about £130. That did include a 5Ah Li-ion battery pack though.

Thats a really good price, especially with a 5ah battery.
I find my 1/4 cordless impact wrench invaluable, in fact I used it to undo and do up the sump bolts on my Xantia today then hand torqued them. As far as tools go it is probably the one i use most at work. Mines a milwaukee m12 and I paid £160 for it, a matching drill and 2x2ah batteries.

My brother also has a 1/4" drive impact gun and he rates it as well as the 1/2". I wanted 1/2" specifically for the wheels on the cars. Anything else it gets used for is a bonus.

Whilst talking tools I also recently bought one of their multi-tools.

A bit specialised but there are all sorts of attachments that can be added. At extra cost of course.

Those modern electric rattle guns are jolly impressive...

When my air-operated rattle gun packs up I'll get one...

Mind you, the amount of use it gets, that'll be a while yet...

I bought one of those in Lidl, not AEG of course but I found it a very useful tool. As for the first one you pictured I have a compressor and a comprehensive set of air tools with it so I haven't tried the electric one, the problem I see with most of those modern battery tools is their bulk, not much use for jobs in tight spaces.

Not a bad price all told, bit rich for my blood though. I paid roughly the same for my new compressor but it has other uses as well as the 1/2" impact, it'll do my tyres, cleaning, rustproofing & even a little bit of spraying with my cheap aldi gun...

I'd be lost without my compressor and selection of air tools. One of the most valuable and useful items in my workshop... It gets used nearly every day for some task or another, even if it's just to blow dust out of something...

I rate a compressor as an essential tool; simple as that...
