Failure of the struts is common - the official procedure is to remove the headlining, but there is a youtube vid of doing it with the lining in situ.
How did you fix the ESP light Gibbo?

Re: On my walk.
Bleeding out the ASB pump then doing a BSI reset fixed the ESP light Richard.
I knew about the fix for the hinge struts, must have seen that video before.
I sorted the window switch this morning, popped out the guts and gave it a good wipe clean and all's well again.

Re: On my walk. Tailgate struts!
I think I had some extraordinary good luck on these, they seem to be priced at around £59 plus postage, I thought that it would be a broom handle job for the time being.
I looked on Ebay and instead of looking for C5 estate struts I put in the part number, same result until I scrolled down to near the end of the offers where I came across them for £16 odd and free delivery.
First thought 'what's the catch?' couldn't see one, the picture was right the part number right so I ordered a pair (Ebay and Paypal buyer protection, what's the risk)
They arrived today, correct parts brand new in the original packing, I fitted them and they're fine.
So I thought 'must tell the FCF guys about this bargain' went back to the Ebay site for the listing number and the seller has amended the price to £80 odd each, he must have listed the price wrong when he first put them up but honoured the deal anyway.

That's a lovely result Gibbo...
I guess there'll be a stampede now... Wonder if he has enough to meet demand
