OK, so the new hose arrived today and it's fitted.

Turned ignition and the pump (under the tank , yes?) Is whirring away but the suspension isn't going anywhere. I believe there are bleed points on the system, am I right ? Anyone got a location on these assuming that could be my issue. Cheers

Have you primed the system/know fluid is reaching the pump?

I gave a few blows in to the tank as described before. I'll give it another go in a bit and see.

don't forget to turn the steering wheel as well with the engine running to fill the power steering with the lds

We have liftoff :) just needed more lung power . Just need to get the level right now.

Did the power steering first thing. It's something that's always at the front of my thoughts having had issues with volvo power steering a couple if times. You never forget the sound of a power steering pump running dry :)

So citroenxm's trick worked then? While I had little doubt it worked for him, the fact others can do it makes it far more useful.

Not convinced all is well, it doesn't seem to be dropping right down and not as quick as before. I wonder have I put the hose on slightly coverign the hole in the sturt and it's blocking the fluid from returning properly. Would that cause the issue?

So I went out to sort some stuff for work tomorrow and as said, it has been a stinker since I got it, but prior to the fluid loss it would rise once it was unlocked. Since getting it running again the other day I've been starting it when I've unlocked it but today I noticed the pump ran for a bit (30 + seconds ish) but the back never rose. So it's not rising if I don't start it. Could it be air in the system or some such? Does it need to be bled?

I wonder if a Citrobics session or two might help here? What you could try doing is to take the suspension to full high service height, wait for a couple of minutes (to allow things to settle down), then turn the steering from lock to lock a few times, drop her to full low service height, wait for a couple of minutes again, steering from lock to lock again, and then repeat a few times. That can help the LDS circulate, and help move any air to the reservoir.

Once you have done a Citrobics session (say, 20 minutes worth) I would then (after bottoming her out) check the LDS level, to see if the level has dropped. If it has (and you cannot see any signs of a leak) it would suggest some air has been purged out.

Citrobics can also help to keep various things moving smoothly, and is normally something green blooded Citroens benefit from.
