Lexia Exciter, is it a module? How does it hook up to Lexia?

Post by AlvinCitroenC5 »

Hi,

I have a Lexia Pp 2000 kit which I bought. I was told an "Exiciter" is required. However, because I work in Mainland China mostly now, many forums and website are blocked. So I am having a difficult time researching documentation on this unit/software.

Can someone let me know? And provide a photo or documentation on how to use this? Thanks.

The exciter used on the Mk1 C5 is called a Protoctair and the one I saw at a Citroen dealer was a Protoctair Mini. I think this is the same as used on the Mk2 C% but am not sure about the Mk3/X7.

I think the Protoctair has been superseded now but I don't know by what.

I looked on AliExpress which you should be able to access. Protoctair did not bring up any hits but I did find this which may do the job.

This is just a guess but it's not very expensive so may be worth trying.

This tool is used to "wake up" tpms sensors when you get new ones and want to configurate them to the car.
When you try to enter sensors into the cars computer you follow a step by step process in Lexia. One of the steps is to put the sensors into configuration/learning mode. This is done by this tool. It sends out a signal on a specific frequency which wakes up the sensors and lets them send a signal so the cars computer can store its identity and place on the car....

Well, I decided to risk just under £20 to see what one of these things does. It's not actually from the supplier in my link but is the same item.

Now the wait begins...
