Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

That's a rare sight Steve, where did that spring from? Its a plug-in hybrid and according to wiki was badged as the Opel or Vauxhall Ampera over here.

Remember "That'll be a Daewoo." ? General motors took over and badged the cars Chevrolet here in the UK.

I don't like the idea of driving around in a car made by a makeup company but if you knock 6 zeros off the price I'll consider it

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
Saw a Seat Mii Electric today. Definitely Black, maybe a 71 Reg. One of the VW e-up! triplets the other one being the Skoda Citigo-e.
There were never any plans to produce any of those variants at volume, and both the Skoda Citigo-e and the Seat Mii electric were choked by VW. High volume/ low price is not the way EV's are currently being presented to the market. Nothing has disrupted this in any meaningful way, and as yet no one has stepped out of line.
Looking at the Seat Mii EV, surely not much more than a £10K car. Second hand with 4,422 on the clock £20,325 today on Cazoo, far far to much for what it is, but its the market price. It wont hang around that will be out on a PCP deal at pretty much the price on the ad.
The contenders which may have started it haven't so far materialised to any great extent. The Dacia Spring hasn't hit in any sort of volumes to disrupt, parent Renault will see that it doesn't, unless it goes for that market all guns blazing, which it isn't. Renault sees more profit in C and D segment EV's. The Chinese disruptors in the entry level segment, by the time they get over to Europe and the UK, they slip up the price scale from their promised low prices. Protectionism for the European car industry will see that disruptive low price EV's from China will not make the impact they might have done. Maybe shipping finished cars half way round the world isn't such a good idea in any case.
Regards Neil

If the manufacturers can sell all they make for over £20K, and with no rivals planning to take the market away with a £10K to £15K entry level EV working on tighter margins and higher volumes, it will be some time before the Model T, or the "Folks-wagen" arrives in the new car market.

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
Just been to the recycling centre and on the way home I spotted my first BMW iX3 in white!! A monstrosity!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
The cluster spots occur on most days out now, and the recognisable TESLA I probably come across half a dozen every drive out.
Here's a shutter click from this week, quite a common sight now.

You would need a decent telescope to see this detail on a Polestar
