Not heard of it - looks like it might arrive out here next year some time...

The only BEV with any real penetration out here are the various Tesla models - you now expect to see one (or several) on any drive. Will test this theory in February - don't expect to see many in Central Australia - just too far between charging stations.

Here's a cross-post from Aussie Frogs - courtesy of "Greenpeace":

Came across this article on a Tesla setting yet another "around Australia in an EV record", this one was 10 days.
This time they called it " The Big Lap". I always thought The Big Lap followed Highway 1, and went up to Cairns and across to Karumba? Doesn't the Big Lap include Far North Queensland's largest city (and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state) any more?
Maybe the Tesla took the "Biggish Lap" or the "EV Friendly Big Lap"?
I note another glaring omission in the article is how much the trip actually cost in charging fees?
Normally they can't wait to tell everyone how the entire trip only cost $4.50.🤔
Just out of interest, a Morris 1100 did the original Big Lap in 8.2 days, 55 years ago. This Highway 1 route was 15,500 kms, vs the 13,500 km route the Tesla took.

Couple of bright whites today. Peugeot e-208 to the left, Volvo C40 PRO Recharge Twin AWD 2022 to the right, of the slightly grubby BB leaf.

Apparently a Hyundai, presume it is an Ioniq 6. It's not very pretty.... the rear is all bulbous and just...wrong!! £47k - £55k. Cheaper than a Porsche I suppose, but it would need to be with those looks

Eight Leafs, all together!

A cheat though. I drove past the Nissan factory and then followed a transporter loaded up with Leafs.

A couple of commercials.

In Ponteland the other day a micro vehicle with reg plates, Royal Mail red paint job and all logoed up. Very probably one of these from Norwegian firm Paxster https://paxster.no/about-paxster/ selling to postal services across the world. Short (2mins) Video here
Spoiler: show
Today this in Coldstream, had a chat with the operator, it was his first day using it, and was finding the left hand drive and getting in and out something which needed a bit of getting used to. Its basically an urban use vehicle and that area of the scottish borders is anything but urban. He discovered that when he had to do a 20 mile round trip to the next nearest place of any size up at Greenlaw. It is definitely not a vehicle designed for that particular road the A697 which as a main route to Edinburgh/Newcastle has much fast traffic and heavy transport using it.
