My wife does Facebook with family and friends as well as a pile of their games. My only Media vice is WhatsApp and even then it is very limited, mostly because i am so slow typing on it. My grandkids' respond in nano seconds and can whip off several other posts while I reply to theirs.

WhatsApp I use extensively for both chats with friends and things like parkrun admin and club group chats. We also use it extensively at big running and cycling events for keeping in touch with all the volunteers out on the course...

It's good and I prefer it to Facebook Messenger, another one I use extensively...

And if it's not already, can we please dump Christmas in here... Can't wait until Sunday... We then have a whole year before we have to put up with all this hateful silliness again...

The best thing about Christmas is when it's all over...

Dickens was a left wing socialist, his stories are all a bit iffy.
There is an alternative to the Scrooge story.
Ebenezer was a hard working but poor boy, unlike his school mates he decided he didn't want to moan about his poverty and to be poor all his life so he worked hard and saved until he could afford to set up a small bookkeeping business.
Like all small businesses he struggled along but kept going year by year, employing some of his friends in the work, paying them what the business could afford.
Those workers unfortunately milked the business dry, pinching the stationery and the coal he provided for the staff's comfort.
So working in his office on Christmas eve while the staff are out partying he is trying to work out the accounts for the taxman and to see if the business can survive another year.
Outside he hears Cratchet, a beer in his hand, singing his head off not a care in the world.
Ebenezer has had enough he says "Sod it" and joins the party.
Christmas has passed and the taxman cometh, the business can't pay, Ebenezer is sent to the debtors jail, the business collapses and they're all out of work and back on the poverty line.
Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. (Albert Einstein)

I've never read any of Dickens and know nothing of any of his tales Eric...

I suppose that marks me out as uneducated... Yep, in many ways I am, especially in the arts...
