For that sort of price I'd want it to come with a minion to do the work for me.

A lot of money but probably acceptable for someone who has need of all those somewhat unusual bits.

I have a similar but less extensive one from Lidl (?) for about £16.
Even less extensive now as I dropped it and some of the bits that escaped have never been seen since.

For that price I would want a socket or two that fitted at least one bolt on my cars....

And I'm disappointed that none of the items are gold plated.

Anyone foolish enough to follow my antics on the DIY Motoring thread will remember my plan to overcome the problem with the dangerous 'push fit' joint in the spring compressor. I posted a sketch of my plan to remake them with a far safer design.

Today after completing my headlight polishing I set about the necessary work. First job was to erect a safe grinding bench using my welding blanket to catch all the sparks:
The bench and vice in my safe zone

Firstly I cut the handle off the lower hook bar to give me more bolt length at the top.
The hanle removed

Then I had to cut the upper tube as I was moving the failed receptor boss from the bottom end to the top. I actually cut too short a piece the first time so I made a second cut which gives the two waste tubes in the picture further down:

The next job was to grind 21mm flats onto the boss that had pulled out to be used as the captive nut at the end:

The last task was to cut out the top hook retaining pin to allow the bolt to pass through the end to the repositioned nut and newly sourced bearing washers:

Then it was a matter of cleaning up the edges and assembling the unit in its new arrangement:

Laid alongside the original so the lack of inset tension joints is clear:

Having completed the job on the failed unit I repeated the procedure, but cutting the upper pipe just once, on the other unit to eliminate any chance of a similar failure in the future:

Gosh, there's something I never even imagined existed! Mind you, judging by the mess made when mine was last topped up - not by me I hasten to add - it might be a good investment if needed on a frequent basis.

For now I have a plan to use a funnel.

I'll be very careful to make sure there's no ice-cubes in the vicinity when I top up ;)

Reminds me of Sian, who was born on the day Titanic sunk. One day when she was little she said 'Daddy! I know how Titanic sunk!'

Slight pause...

'It hit an ice-cube...'
