I have found that although a socket works for the oil filter, on the fuel filter, because the applied force is above the filter, the socket tips slightly and will round off the hex. I now use a straight ring spanner so the force is applied on the line of the nut. Yes, tight but turns without problem, I carefully grease tecO-ring on assembly and now have no problem.

Alan,

Push the white part in and pull the black part to the side to remove. The grey part was brittle on mine and disintegrated. Hence the rip ties just changed the filter last weekend Have a look at original photo and they can clearly seen

I think its a T30 or T35 torx bit for the 4 bolts securing cover on paper filter.

hi does any of you guys know if i can buy the white plastic clips that hold the fuel lines into the fuel filter housing on the DW10C engine? This is on a 2010 C5 (2.0HDi 160 vtr estate as shown in the picture at the top of this thread

Just changed mine on the same engine...

I had to specially order a Laser T35 3/8" Drive bit to get those Torx nuts off.

I couldn't get the right side filtered hose clip off but still could pull it up far enough and replace the filter and rubber O-ring.

Old filter was black as a black thing,
