I did James - I think I've had near £5k of warranty work done - (New Steering Rack, Crankshaft Oil Seal, rear Suspension Pipe, Labour on Clutch replacement, New Driver's Window Regulator, New A/C Condenser, New A/C Compressor, New Height Correctors that I can remember, plus all the labour and fluids this involved) - so not moaning on that score. But I never really looked at what was done before - so now I think I'll just be asking for an oil change and I'll do the rest!

Excellent value really then, that'll teach them to charge £10 a minute for labour.

Just wanted to say a big 'thank you' for this instructional! =D> Very helpful indeed - just changed mine (a new Motaquip one listed for a 407 was a fiver, delivered from good old fleabay)....15 mins from start to finish, I didn't even have to do the 'upside down in the footwell' thing, and I reckon next time I could easily shave 5 mins or more off that! The worst bit was not being able to feel my fingers afterwards....its bloody cold today! Image

Phew! That's been an energetic morning. Thanks Marc for the write up regarding the pollen filter. I've just finished doing mine. First time on this car. Previously I've left it to the dealer to do. But I hope I've made a better job of it than the Citroen workshop did. This is how the old one came out.

Decide I would replace my cabin/pollen filter today. Easily removed thaks to Marc's excellent guide. Somewhat disappointed with what came out! A busy day tomorrow with airline & vacuum cleaner. I will make a better job of fitting it than the last bloke!!!

Yep - when these go back in, you have to coax it in gently with a combination of manipulation at all the sides and the top / bottom whilst gently pushing it back, but without allowing it to bunch up in the middle, where you can't see it. Flat trim removal tools may help guide it in.

Job jobbed & relatively painless! Fortunately the filter had managed to keep the majority of the muck back & a brush & adapted vacuum cleaner tool sorted it all out. The new filter went in quite easily with a bit of a jiggle. I'm happy that it's intact & correctly fitted. One more job done! Thanks again for the help Marc. (still trying to sort a steering rack gaiter though!)

It will depend on your build date:

For vehicles with RPO up to 12433 (23 November 2010), then it will be a Diameter 4.5 -15
For Vehicles with RPO from 12434 on (24 November 2010 onwards) then it will be a Diameter 4.5-20

Very thorough and helpful thing to have this. Replacing any kind of air filter on a C5 X7 is sodding difficult, if you pardon my French.

Thanks for your answer.
i don't know what does RPO mean.
But i guess that the 4,5-20 is suitable for my C5.

RPO is the date your car started construction. You can find the RPO number on a label typically stuck on a pillar in the driver door space. It will be 7 digits long, normally 5 numbers followed by 2 letters. The numbers related to the construction date, the letters refer to the factory. On my C5 it has the RPO 10045CJ.

Just done this, thanks for the guide Marc. I put newspaper down to catch the leaves/bugs that came out, so didn't have to hoover the car. I know this is an old thread, the amazon link to the bomb no longer works, so I'll update it with links to the genuine PSA parts I got off eBay for it.
