I have recently been back to the auto electrician who gave me the 'splicing' solution, and told him he is now an FCF star with over 20000 hits. A very happy man, although he did point out it hadn't made him rich.......

Just stuck in a loop somehow. Binned that as it was less than useless.

Problem solved. :rofl2: Had to take it to the car electrician who replaced the plug and the green relay in the engine compartment by the fuse box and a connector under the glovebox that was heating up. Hope it helps someone with similar problem.

Hi guys I also have a dreaded heating blower failer and was looking for a little guidance if possible my car is a 1.6 hdi 2009 c4 coupe VTR plus with approx 180000 on the clock . VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Ok the cars served me well with many trips from the uk to Spain under its belt with only a few Dpf faults that have been circumvented

I was driving down the motorway and heard a plink come from the passenger side of the car , a bit like a very small stone hitting the door when the blowers went off , I have all the lights for the air con , circulation etc and when driving you can feel heat present at the vents but 1 through to 4 on the fan speed selector does work at all .

I’ve checked all of the fuses both in the glove and under the bonnet
I’ve tried an ecu reset (unhooked batt over night)
I tried the bridge fix in this thread

I’m guessing the next things for me to check would be the actual fan and a resistor that’s attached to the unit and I believe this is under the glovebox passenger side , am I correct in think this please

I'm glad it's working - the subject has been covered extensively on this and other threads, so I didn't want to repeat what has already been put up.

Is this your actual vehicle in the video? I see that has an Android system that has been retro-fitted. This won't be the first time I have heard of these interring with the vehicle's systems if not done correctly. It could be a CAN problem on the vehicle network.

You may also have a faulty climate control panel. But really you will need Diagbox on it to get a diagnostic. There are lots of actuator tests you can run to check the various button pushes and the system overall. That may give you a clue.

yeah bought it with the android already on it, with the ac problem as well by the previous owner, so diagbox check is a must?

Should also say that when driving a few km and stopping and than starting the engine on it all works, all buttons everything, ac, heater a OK.

I think so, because otherwise you aren't really going to know where the problem lies.

Several possible issues:
- the wrong blower motor control module was fitted;
- the blower control module part number was right, but the quality of the module was poor if not an original or decent make (Valeo, Behr for example).
- wiring issue with the multiplexed network (maybe, or maybe not caused by the wiring in of the Android)
- faulty A/C climate control panel
- blower fan unit bearings may be seizing due to water / condensation. This then means there is insufficient power to start the blower motor (as these are designed to start off slowly, then increase in speed. Some people have bridged the blower motor directly to bypass the blower control module and provide full power to get it going again. But this is only a temporary fix and ideally if this is the issue it will need replacing as the rust will get worse.

Welcome along! You can probably buy the plug - but it will come with miles of harness attached and cost ££££!!! Best bet is to find a scrapyard with one in stock (or e-bay) and cut the plug off, then solder it on to your car.
