Just like me then Dave... My C1 left me on Friday

Modern cars abandoned in favour of proper old workhorses :D

You won't regret it... I'd honestly forgotten just how good a well-sorted 1.9TD powered vehicle is ;)

The missus said it's like sitting in a lorry. I must admit I had a few concerns about town driving but I just popped up to my son's to pick her up and it was fine. Just got the heavy clutch to sort. I'll pop up to the indies tomorrow and see what they say

The body is really nice Jim apart from a slight knock on the drivers side sliding door which is hard to spot anyway and the colour is great. First green car I've owned.

I've never owned a green car Dave...

Not that I can recall anyway!

Shame as I like Xantias in green too...

Only had an Accord in green. I am not fussy about colours but my mother in law would never ride in a green car and never owned anything green.

It's a nice looking old bus! I love those cars, and their van equivalents. I have owned 3 personally and driven many more miles in another 4 or 5 as taxis. I much prefer them to the 807/C8 which replaced them.

Indie thinks it's probably the clutch as you said Jim. Booked in for Wednesday next week.

You'll be amazed at just how featherweight light a new 1.9TD clutch is Dave.

Just make sure the person doing it uses a good OEM kit such as Valeo or LUK and renews the release shaft nylon bushes ;)

I'll be replacing mine in the spring...

They're good lads Jim but I'll pop in and ask them to do the bushes as well. I asked them to check the gear cables while they had the box out.

At the moment the clutch is heavy and jerky so it makes everything feel very ponderous. Looking forward to getting it done.

It's the IR (Infra Red) receiver for the plip Dave...

Under it you'll find a number of photocells set in an array to make them visible from all around the dome.

I'm surprised it's still IR as around that time they were changing to RF plips working on 432MHz...

EDIT: If you can't see an IR LED on the plip then it will be RF but they may just have left the dome in place from earlier versions...

You can tell if it's an IR plip by looking at it whilst operating it through a digital camera...
