The tyre originally fitted to the Activa was specially developed for them, and had very stiff sidewalls. I suppose that when tested it passed the "W" specification, and that was that.

After getting the correct wheel bolts I fitted the Peugeot Nimrod wheels. To my taste the 16" wheels are the best overall size for the Xantia with 17" just too big. I think 17s only look right in fatter, newer cars.

Dreadful pictures but taken on cameraphone in low light. Anyway they do fit well and no problem with offset. The Peugeot 16" have 6.5J width and I don't think I'll be making any changes to the front axle with regard to hub spacers. I might add spacers to the rear, maybe 10mm hubcentrics. Anyway, I'm happy with the overall result.

I like the pug nimrods. I have in my possession a set of citroen 17" resolfens from a c4 which I shall be test fitting in the next day or two. They are shod with 205/50x17 tyres which I don't think will be kept. Photos will be uploaded once fitted.

I was looking for either nimrod or challenger wheels for mine but a set of tsw multispokes came up very cheap, is a picture of a silver hatch with resolfens on google images, 'Xantia + resolfen' pops it up, they do look like they could do with spacers on the rear,

The one on google is silver, but as above, I wasnt too sure, a friend had a set but wanted silly money for them, oddly enough, he still has them!

Following on about Activa tyres.
The tyre rating changed from W to V during the car's life time.
My early 1998 car required W rated tyres, whereas my late 1999 car requires V, I'm going by the sticker in the door shut. Not sure why it changed, maybe due to unavailability of the original spec Michelin tyre.
I'm currently running on Michelin Energy V rated tyres, not the most sporty of tyre, but they perform well enough for me and my car.

Same as me on my Activa and they seem fine for me...

Not my car, it is the one from Google. My health coupled with iffy weather has stopped me going outside to work at the car today.
