I lost the toss for the TV selection last night so ended up with recordings of Countryfile, Gardener's World and Millionaire!! Wouldn't have known any of those answers though!! :-D

Poor performance from Manchester last night Exeter wiped the floor with them :-D

...and a howler from the Newcastle Falcon armchair too...

but...the telly is a good way away from the armchair, the picture on the telly is too dark, and the photo flashed up and was away too quick to focus on it properly so I blurted out Newcastle..(er the millennium bridge has rainbow colours of LED's and the picture looked like one of those out of perspective things on the poor picture on the telly.) Thankfully the Scottish captain of our team rescued me from total embarrassment with the right answer :-D

Chomped through the bonuses with 3 out of 3 though :-D

Gibbo beat me to it!! I am reliably informed that it is a beautiful place at the south end of the South Island with a significant number of ex pat Scots living there!! :)

The TV photo could be misconstrued with Newcastle, it does look like the Baltic, the Sage and millennium bridge. The crane kinda spoils it.
My first thought was M'bro and the transporter, if someone had nicked half the transporter.

I would say that the skyline is Glasgow, and the three towns are Liverpool, Barrow and Middlesborough!! :-D

The map was hopeless Mick and a bit imprecise even if you got a foot away from the telly.

So Liverpool is a good shot, but it was actually Birkenhead on the Wirral, birthplace of Boaty McBoatface :-D
Barrow and Middlesborough were the the other 2 as you mentioned.

The teams guesses were Kendal...(tee hee), The Wirral, and Redcar......0 out of 3 Although close with 2 and 3.

The British geography question came up on UC tonight. Rivers this time...
Which river flows through or near the following places :?:

1 Hexham Corbridge Blaydon Jarrow
2 Ashford, Canterbury, Sandwich
3 Aberfeldy, Dunkeld, Perth and Dundee

Poor from me 2 out of 3 but to be fair the one I got wrong was "way on down South" even past London town, Kent and really a tiny little trickle compared to the other 2, and I did guess Kent's other river.

The cream of St John's Cambridge surprisingly got 1 out of 3, with the correct answer for number 1, even more surprising.

Well the Medway is a reasonable guess, at least it is just up the road in Kent but they said the Avon?? Not even in the right quarter of the country! Unbelievable how bad the UK geography seems to be in our undergraduates!! The Dee I suppose is at least an understandable guess for Dundee but in fact its not even in Scotland so they really are terrible!! :-D
Maybe the FCF should enter a team!! :-D
