Can you explain from the beginning what you were trying to do? I need to know what you were trying to do, and what you did.

Has this happened after you tried to update the firmware? - Or has this happened randomly?

So first I updade the firmware via SD cart it is around 30mins, but I left inside MP3 CD as far as I know needs to be without CD inside. Somehow I forgot about it and after when everything was ready that thing shows. Every buton on the unit is dead no fuction. Even if the engine is not running the screen is like this. If I remove the SD cart it shows in red fail. I manage to remove the CD from inside the unit, but nothing still the same. I updade many units and no problems until now and I thing the problem is from that mp3 CD somehow.

So always update from dealer CD...

Best thing you can do is to get a dealer firmware CD from the dealer for a few £s (not an ISO downloaded from the internet, as these have copy protection and usually will not work).

When you have the official CD, insert it in the unit and switch the engine off.
Follow the (BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure) guide - but leave the battery disconnected for about 15 minutes.

When you have powered everything back up, start the vehicle and see if the CD will start in recovery mode.

No - you can order it - it has a part number: 9679240380 and costs £3.22! - Don't be tight :rofl2:

True, the dealers order one and keep it to use as a tool to update customer units and are told to do that - but it is like any other part and can be ordered from the parts department!

Spoke with the dealer in my town and no luck. "sorry not in stock with Citroen
no delivery date"
Spoke with the dealer in town near me and they order it for me. It will be here next week. Strange is they are same brand company, but different branches...
BIG THANK YOU for your help! I will post if this fix my problem.
Also spoke with someone who knows how to fix it for price of £50. + postage it will be around £60 in total... 1 week turnover what a strange world :)

Well at least you have a better chance of 'reanimating' the internal memory from a dealer CD - just keep it safe from scratches. This contains the firmware for the latest update including the recovery programme. Let us know how it goes, but sometimes if the flashing has been interrupted it can brick the unit as it gets left in a half completed state. Repairs can sometimes reanimate it with a direct connection to the board and special software.

Good luck.

Hi

This is likely to be one of 3 things:

The Screen itself, the Video Lead from the Head Unit to the Screen, or the Head Unit. Checks need to be done to help determine which one it is. The dealer would undertake the positive and earth checks at the video screen lead connection to the screen and work from there. If there is power and earth at the relevant terminals, they would check the condition of the video lead and replace it - if this did not solve it, the process would involve getting into the diagnostic menu and taking a core dump which includes a screenshot of the head unit sending a file to the screen.

After all this and the files are extracted, they would compare the screenshot from the core dump files to what the actual screen displays (blank in your case) and if the screen shot is different i.e. there is an image or content, they would replace the screen.

If the content was the same on the screenshot (both blank), then they would replace the head unit - as this would be the issue with the Head Unit not sending the signal to the screen.

I've just gone over this briefly to let you know what is involved and what the outcomes of each would be for your information.

You don't need any hidden menu to put on the Speed Camera POI. You just put the downloaded and extracted files for the speed camera alerts into the 'Database' folder of your MyWay SD card, overwriting existing files and then go into the Navigation Screen and activate all the POIs you want showing.

Details Here:

https://www.scdb.info/en/installation-citroen-myway/#4

I can't tell what you've done now regarding the hidden menu as that is not supposed to be accessed under normal conditions and if the screen is blank, it is going to be hard to see where you are without a display.

Therefore you can try and reset the vehicle's BSI and the MyWay using the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure

Make sure you follow the instructions exactly, especially regarding the timings and not opening any doors or pressing any buttons or anything during the procedure or you will wake up the network and the whole thing will need repeating again.

Let us know how you get on.

did a reset twice but didn't work I will probably have to take it into the main dealer to get it sorted the ICU did not reset the radio because it came on at the same station and also the screen is still blank no Citroen logo when I switch on the ignition as there should be anymore thoughts on solving the solution will be appreciated
