Re: FCF AA BOX Challenge 2018-...7 left now!!
And another bagged today by yours truly. I wasn't particularly looking for it, I was just avoiding Aberdeen when going to Edinburgh today, going from Macduff to Banchory then over the cairn o mount. It's a lovely run but a pity the weather wasn't playing ball, it was grey, wet and miserable. However this box is in phenomenal condition, looks newly painted up, it's absolutely immaculate,

I wish the same could be said about a lot of faded pink telephone boxes. (b-t-w, has anyone seen a grey one recently?)

No, but if you go to Kingston-Upon-Hull you can bag a few cream ones...
Hull was the only place in the UK (I believe) where the GPO did not historically have a monopoly - hence the cream phone kiosks...

Davie, you manage to find things in the steepest of places! How did you manage to park Gabby on such a slope?

FCF AA BOX Challenge 2018-...5 left now!!
Thanks to Davie’s good work
Only 5 remaining!.
Here they are....A box is claimed with an original photograph. The photo could be made a bit more interesting if it includes an animate eg person(s)/dog/horse, or inanimate object eg car/bike as well as the plain old box!

Re: FCF AA BOX Challenge 2018- Only 6 left now!!
I've posted one with my silver xantia, one with the red xantia, one with myself and Chris, and one with Chris's xm. I will have to go for a run in the 205 for the last Scottish one. I can see that being a run with the specific aim of getting a photo of box and 205 together. I expect it will be sideways too lol
I also fancy a holiday in Jersey, I do have a friend who lives there. It would be icing on the cake if she owns a French car!

Bagging the Jersey box will be the ultimate! I supect it may be the last to go. I can hardly believe with my Lake District visiting activity that I have not passed by the Dunmail Rise box at Grasmere since we started this thread a couple of years ago!
After starting off the "What do you know about Norfolk thread?" specifically to get that box bagged, we went on holiday there ourselves last year

Well done Davie you have already contributed brilliantly to this thread...Thanks
Regards Neil

Re: FCF AA BOX Challenge 2018-...7 left now!!
You're right, although I don't recall them being cream, & they're yellow on the Isle of Man, pale blue on Guernsey(?) & some canny telecom co. bought some off BT, painted them black - & put them back on the streets of London! However I was referring to what was the alternative colour for rural areas, originally green, then (seemingly) at the same time as concrete boxes, albeit with red glazing bars, grey. There still was one in Bellever Forest, on Dartmoor, until last year - when it was painted red! Odd, when BT seem to have given up repainting the red ones.

I've seen a red telephone box around here somewhere - Consett area most likely although I don't remember where exactly.
I was surprised to see it, on the edge of some little village.

Brilliant - nicely done in a nice car, Davie. Aimless jaunts are sometimes the best!
