Well you've added the seat covers and aerials and the chequer tape but you forgot the white sidewalls for the tyres.

Re: Tartan Travel Rugs and other Nostalgic Motoring Accessories
I once painted my 1st cars (mini 850) tyres with white prima to give it white wall tyres and it looked rather swish for a day or two until it all started to come off I was 18 then and it was the 70's people were doing all sorts to their cars not always good, also bought a white tyre pen on my 2nd cars and highlighted the word Firestone on them in white, looked ok for a month or so then cam off so I gave up.
We even had fluffy dice and 8 track cassettes and spot lamps all over it and if your were well off you had Rally Oscars on as they were mega money, used for reverse lamp (single one usually chrome backed) as well from a switch inside the car so if someone came up behind you on full beam you flicked on the reverse spot lamp and blinded them, we also went through a stage of sticking a GB stickers on your boot and painting your lamps yellow with that yellow liquid you could get like you had been abroad in it, when really you had been to Blackpool but who would know as they passed.
Oh things we would do in the late 70's early 80's.
Don't get me started on side pipes and soaking pedestrians on a wet weekend by revving your car and blowing gutter water all over them when parked up listening to the stranglers.

Excellent! I do like a Landcrab - especially when it has a tartan travel rug on the back seat...

Thanks Jim Its not that far away but "The Lakes" is a different world from Northumberland and a definite change of scenery and building materials! Love the blue/green slate used as walling/house building/ roofingCitroJim wrote: 17 Aug 2024, 05:40 Excellent! I do like a Landcrab - especially when it has a tartan travel rug on the back seat...

Re: Tartan Travel Rugs and other Nostalgic Motoring Accessories
I'm not sure if this fits here but here goes..
I received this yesterday as a semi-unsolicited gift.. One I was delighted to receive
An AX holdall
I know nothing of its history or provenance; I wonder if it was a promotional item?
Or offered as an accessory to the sporty AX GT owner?
I also have no clue as to how old it is... I suspect late 80s...
This will make a great period accessory to display on the back seat of my AXs when they attend shows

Slap bang in the right place Jim. Now if Citroen were on the ball accessory and merch wise a catalogue/brochure of such things should be findable, and the AX is well into nostalgia territory now
